so i bet nearly everyone who is on bhw is a caffeine addict just like myself, well, im giving up caffeine and refined sugar for my health and productivity in general, this is a call for anyone else out there who has been thinking about doing it to join me and give up on this dependancy :)

iv done it before and i can do it again but with how much caffeine a lot of people are consuming its quite bad for your health, so, who's joining me? :)

oh and yes, i love the TASTE of coffee, not just the caffeine kick, which makes it all that much more difficult, going to have to find decent tasting decaf coffee... that i can drink without real sugar... lol this is going to suck :)

i have been using coconut oil lately and it gives me more than enough energy i was shock and it last, not sure what it will do for you but look into it.

no refined sugar for me means no softdrink AT ALL either

glad to see some others joining in, to see some other people that care about their health is nice :)

What about taking an ice cold shower every 15 minutes, gives you a kick atleast

well, all i know is that a can of redbull had me trimming my bushes and spreading mulch at 11:30 last night..................don't think i could give it up. but best of luck to you guys!

trophaeum,

Wishing you well in your endeavor...hope it does help your health. As for me I'll have to stay with my coffee. Just will be doing it in moderation. Keep us informed as to how it goes for you. And no the addition to my "regards" is not throwing it in your face. I've been doing it for a long time and DO love my coffee.

Regards,

I don't drink coffee or anything with caffeine and never did
just quit drinking it i guess.

Last summer i used to drink at least 1.5 - 2.0 litres of caffeine based energy drinks or soft drinks on a regular basis.
To be honest, it wasn't really needed at all.
At the beginning of feburary this year, i gave up all soft drinks + all caffiene energy drinks (i don't drink coffee)

First while was a real pain...while your body adjusts to it. But you should feel more energetic.
I've only had one bottle of coke since (and that was about two weeks in...i was in a concert....dying of dehyrdration and a guy comes around selling coke  of course i was gonna buy one)

Try fruit as a replacement....apples/oranges contain a pretty high amount of natural sugar...better then soft drinks/etc anyway.

I gave up booze several years ago, but I couldn't live without my daily kick of Espresso.

this here is certainly a person who hasnt been addicted to caffeine :) im preparing for caffeine withdrawal headaches to start in a few hours lol its not as simple as you may think

I drink 5 cups a day but do NOT give it up WHY? Because you are less likely 20 or so years less likely to die than people who do NOT drink a lot of caffeine It stops you having heart attacks according to those scientist sort of people Just GOogle it Course you could be shot or run over by a bus or plane crash get aids from shagging too many women (or men whatever you are) but thats not the point LOL

Coffee, Alcohol, and Chocolate are all good for you in moderation; the problem is most people don't moderate their intake, they binge.

A good way to ween yourself off of mega-doses of energy drinks and caffiene is switching up to green tea... just enough caffiene to sooth the cravings, and plenty of other things to help improve health and mental clarity. Switch to fruit juice and yogurt for the refined sugar issues.

You could also grab raw honey and use it as a sweetener in tea/coffee to ease up on the refined sugars.

well im quite a fan of both green and black tea so its not so bad for me to switch to tea, anyway, first day off of caffeine starts now, drinking lots of water, waiting for the first headache to hit, this shall be 'fun'

WOW man, that's bad, I never though caffeine would create that kind of addiction, thank god i hate coffe...good luck man

Wow, This is awesome. I just gave up drinking coffee I was drinking about 7-10 cups a day. I can't quite totally because of the massive headaches that I'm already getting the only thing that makes them go away is if I have around 1-2 cups One in the morning than one around a few hours before I go to bed.

For some reason I never though of drinking decaf, I love the taste of coffee as well which makes it so much harder to give up. I'll deff be buying some decaf now.

Yeah with caffiene and adderral i'd get nothing done.
