Hey was wondering if i should open a new account for bot activity as i dont want my main to get banned...or does reddit not ban for botting

yes if you search for tutorial on yt you can find how to use a proxy on a phone etc
but the problem with phones is they have unique identifiers and reddit can know that it is the same model
unless you want to go down the rabbit whole of IMEI spoofing and other stuff
by the way what are you even trying to bot with a phone ?

Reddit is heavily against bots, use a burner account

Your IP wont get banned but Reddit links your accounts together if they're created or logged in on the same browser (via cookies) or on the same mobile app. For testing bots either use a new browser that you don't use for personal activities or an anti-detect browser. If you want to go that extra step you can also use a high quality residential proxy (make sure it's a good proxy though or else this will get you banned).

So i just download any old browser on playstore and it wont ban my ip?

Are you talking about using an Android phone? If that's the case you can use chrome, firefox or any other browser of your choice but this is not a great method.

If you're not using your Reddit app on the Android phone for your main account you can either clear the app's cache or just delete and re-install it and use the app, this is much better.

If you are using your main account on your Android phone's app then my best advice would be to use a laptop/desktop browser...

My phone is rooted and bootloader unlocked is there method for that as i dont have a desktop

Yep, I've heard there are ways to run multiple instances of one app on a rooted phone but I haven't looked into it myself.

No, your ip is the same unless you use a proxy or if you're using cellular internet you can put your phone in airplane mode and then turn airplane mode off. These two methods will give you a new ip. Clearing the app's cache will prevent Reddit from linking your accounts together which means if one gets banned the other wont...

Oh yes, if you use the account very suspiciously you will get banned, so don’t even try this on your main account and if you want to do some bot activities open more Reddit accounts

You can also use app cloner to keep multiple accounts in parallel. But as it is written above, always reconnect the internet to get a new IP address
