Hi everyone, I have a small problem with my site, it is a local service site, in order to target all the major cities in my country I created a subfolder for each city, here is the structure:

site.com/city1/service
site.com/city2/service

At launch the site had great performance and many top 3 but since mid-August the site has lost a lot of position and some pages no longer appear on Google, it is a very uncompetitive theme with few or no backlinks.

The texts were created with AI but the pages all have many photos and 1 youtube video

Do you know how I could reverse the trend?

Hi, this is interesting. There might be some duplicates. Can you check the status of all the URLs in Google Search Console? Are they flagged as duplicates or having trouble getting indexed by Google?

Also, for local businesses, you should implement the LocalBusiness schema on each location page and make sure to add citations to each one.

I do not have any duplicate content, but I did not add local schema on each location page I can try that

I read all your thread and understand

To reverse the decline in your site's performance, focus on enhancing the quality and relevance of your content. Revise your AI-generated text to include unique, localized insights that resonate with each city's characteristics. Conduct thorough keyword research to optimize on-page SEO elements, such as title tags and meta descriptions, ensuring that each page targets relevant long-tail keywords specific to local searches.

Additionally, boost your site's authority through backlink strategies by collaborating with local businesses and securing listings in directories. Encourage customer reviews and integrate social media to increase engagement. Finally, monitor your site's performance with tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console, making regular updates and adjustments based on user feedback and analytics data to maintain relevance and improve rankings.
