Getting Burned Out: Seeking Advice

I've been working for weeks, and most of it has been reading information on these forums and other sites. I've got some blogs set up, but I haven't put enough content on them so I figure I'll market them later.

I'm doing article writing at Helium.com (and reposting the articles at Bukisa and a blog), but it's making me very little in terms of direct payment or ad revenue. I've only been marketing the articles at Helium as they're all the same content, and my daily revenue is maybe $1.00 a day. I was close to $2.00 for a bit then it went down.

I'm not sure what my next decision should be here. I'm not the most confident person in the world so I guess I've been reluctant to spend money. That said, most things aren't that expensive. So basically, I have considered:

1. Designing some webpages.
2. Buying some domains to link to my blogs, articles, etc.
3. Getting Scrapebox, but I'm not sure how effective it will be in this area.
4. Buying proxies and using twitter to affiliate market, social bookmarking, and other techniques.
5. Using Yahoo Answers to link to my posts.
6. Writing an Ebook, but I'm not sure what topic. I can write a ton in a day, but I've never exactly figured out "how much" that is. I suspect I could write a bad-quality fiction book in a day, but I doubt it would sell. I have no idea about that market.

What am I doing now? I'm utilizing Twitter, StumbleUpon, Digg, Mixx, Reddit, and I've put backlinks on all the forums I use - even those I used when about five years ago. I've got a Facebook account, and I'm planning to get into that (though if it's like Twitter, I don't have the highest hopes of getting major revenue increases). I also turned of nofollow in a blog and backlink my articles as I repost them there. I have around 190, 400+ word articles written thus far on Helium. I've been working with photoshop and the possibility of editing images and making comics.

Is there something I should buy first? How fast can I expect it to pay off? I literally read so much stuff my head is splitting by the end of the day. I just don't know which road to take. I want to make some respectable income. I mean, I'd settle for 60 a day passive income at the moment as a "long term" goal. As it is now, I feel like I'm totally wasting my energy in my current areas of pursuit.

Also, does anyone know how to network with people? I'd love to have individuals to IM with questions or exchange ideas. I've been on all kinds of sites, but I don't know how to pursue it, especially given that everyone is suspicious of email farming and such (which I haven't even read about).

If you're a good writer then setup microniche sites. Get a few .infos. Utilize wordpress to update twitter, and include ways for people to bookmark your site [plenty of plugins]. The the SEO plugins. Do some keyword research, and publish a few pages on a site. Build some link, and move on. Give it some time, and build some more links if you don't get any results. Make sure you're indexed [look up ways to rank and not get sandboxed on this forum][also look up how to utilize blogs].

Essentially, pick one thing and stick with it. That's the problem that most people have, there's so many methods out there that they don't know which one to pick.

From this day forth, if you want to do microniches, stick with it, and don't look back.

Pick one basic proven method (look in downloads section), and implement it for 30 days. If you made money, do more of the same to multiply your earnings. If not - move on, try something else.

Well feel free to message me on AIM or a PM. I'm not saying I'm an expert at IM like a lot of people here. But I am successful in offline things and I can give you some tips to help you get started.

Here's what you need to realize.

That's fucking astounding. (no joking around) most of the people on this site read and read and read and never do a thing. So you're ahead of them and you're ahead of 98% of the world. That's a big accomplishment and it should drive you to go for bigger ones.
Remember. Small accomplishments make up Big ones. So you can't have one without the other.

That's exactly what you SHOULD NOT DO. Instead of marketing them later, market them now. What is going to change if you do it now or later besides getting paid sooner?

I'm not saying I always follow that, but I should. I believe you can do it, you've already proved you can make money, now make more money.

I agree with the above poster who said to look for a method that has been posted here before and work on it for a while. I have been doing that, looking for methods that seem profitable and working them myself. BHW has plenty of resources and time-proven methods for you to take advantage of. The methods are there. You just have to put in the work

Fair enough. My thought was if I don't have much content on the site yet, people won't come back. Though I suppose once I get content up, they can hear about it again fairly easily.

Don't expect it to pay off for a good long while. Its called sweat equity. If you want instant gratification, go out and find a job. You're also thinking too small. Use your time and knowledge to help people and you will become wealthy. Think about it - what do people actually need and use? Do they need to visit an autoblog? No. Do they need to buy some discounted baby clothes for their child? Yes. Provide value and you will be compensated.

Don't believe all the bullshit you read on this forum. This place is like high school - a bunch of immature kids running around trying to pump their egos whenever possible, willing to lie and cheat in order to gain some kind of superficial non-existent recognition.

First, you are too spread out over too many ideas. You need some focus otherwise you will just burn out.

That being said, I caught your comment that you are very prolific at writing. If thats true and you can bang out an ebook in a day, I would guess you could write 25 articles in a day quite easy. Most people cannot do that, therefore I recommend you take a look at associated content. If you can do say 15 - 25 articles per day, and you get an average of $2.50-3.00 each, thats not a bad daily income. I guess you need to be U.S. resident to get the upfronts though.

I don't usually recommend people go to AC for income, but if you can really bang out content effortlessly like you say, then its not a bad strategy.

Everyone above gives great advice. One thing I'd like to add, [going back to your writing skills], make a ClickBank account and put your eBooks on there. Pay someone $20 to build a landing page for you, and churn out a few pdfs. Use the content from there and brake it up into smaller articles and submit them to AC.
