Hi,
We have a developer from Nigeria. As per him receiving crypto in Nigeria is not possible. Is this true, what are your experiences? Thank you

One of my team members says the exact opposite. He has a wallet with TG and says it works just fine. But I don't think Binance operates there now.

Most Nigerians I have worked with prefer crypto as the mode of payment. :)

Maybe Binance is not available there, but you can still use crypto using wallets like Metamask or Telegram, show these opportunities to him

Crypto works there and anyone can receive crypto in any part of the world as long as they have access to the internet and a cryptocurrency wallet. However, he/she may have personal reasons for rejecting it. As a payer, it’s better to respect their choice and how they prefer to be compensated for their services.

Well I heard that as well, the exchange rates&inflation is killing the gross/net. It would be cheaper for us&better for him if we could get the crypto over. Deleted member 1603965 can you please what specifically they used? Much appreciated

Wallet&internet ok. But how to cash out crypto, pay the bills in Nigeria?

I think the biggest problem is withdrawing this money...there are probably some bureaucracies about withdrawing this money to your bank account, so you can pay in crypto but he will have a hard time to withdraw it

That is not true. I have friends in Nigeria that work with me. I send them payment through crypto. But I remember they told me P2P is banned there. Apart from that Crypto payment works fine in Nigeria, or so I think

My team member uses TG wallet as mentioned in my previous post :)

We have friends that are from Nigeria and they received it fully. You may asked them to use cryptowallets such as Metamask, you may also check it OKX is available in the area

Thanks for your feedback. Receiving crypto is obviously not a problem. But how to cash out?

Noted. Main issues seems to be cashing-out crypto. What about that?

Please use the multi-quote function if possible, as it makes the threads flow much easier. How to multi-quote can be found here https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/how-to-use-the-multiquote-feature-on-bhw.975670/

As a Nigerian myself, there's some truth to what he's said.

1. a lot of exchangers (Binance, Bitget etc) does not support p2p in Nigeria. So it's somewhat hard to convert the crypto into Naira (or fiat currency, which is shitty by the way)
2. The government is lately cracking down on crypto users, they believe USDt is the reason our fiat is shitty, so if they suspect transaction is crypto-related, they will freeze all of your bank accounts and whatever savings you have in there. All GONE!

So I think the dev is playing it safe.

But there are a lot of people that still use crypto p2p myself included. and a lot of exchangers still allow p2p using our shitty currency (Bybit).

You can send me the crypto and I send him the Naira equivalent

Binance not operating there does not mean those people cannot receive crypto. There are other exchanges.

Where have I written in my reply that people cannot receive crypto because Binance is not operating?

Read the entire answer before replying with irrelevant information.

I have some workers in nigeria that I happily pay with crypto.
