When Autofill Goes Wrong

Whenever I visit Black Hat World, I type bl into the address bar and hit the 'Enter' key. You know, because it'll autofill the rest for me and take me to the forum.

Sometimes I'm an idiot and I hit the ' key right before the 'Enter' key in my haste, so instead of autofilling "blackhatworld.com", it instead does a Google search for bl', which apparently stands for Boys' Love.

I now know more about Boys' Love than I ever cared to know.

there's an fb page/group, twitter page/post, youtube channel, etc... for any topic,
reddit is simply ranking for almost all of these and still growing

I think that's exactly it. Someone posted on BHW not too long ago about about a collaboration between Google and Reddit. I believe not long after, Google released that "forums" tab in the SERPs that pretty much always puts Reddit first.

that could be, since they're using their data for AI training, more traffic = more data = win-win situation,
it could be because of the helpful, SGE and all of the following updates, they're relying more on UX signals now and reddit surely do have good stats

The way I need to flick between tabs means that I often repurpose an existing tab to go back to BHW. So because I prefer not to have my bookmarks bar showing on pages, it's just not an option.

In other words, I'd rather put up with Boys' Love once a week than to show my bookmarks bar.

I think that's exactly it. Someone posted on BHW not too long ago about about a collaboration between Google and Reddit. I believe not long after, Google released that "forums" tab in the SERPs that pretty much always puts Reddit first.

The deal is worth $60m I think. Google pays Reddit.
