Blackhat Flipping

What happens if someone creates a site, puts some affiliate banners on it and then makes purchases through them. In one month, he makes $200 dollars in commissions after 2 sales. Then he basically puts the site for sale at flippa. Since the site made 200 dollars in a month, he sells it for $1000. Can he get away with such scheme?

Let's assume the site has been optimized for Search Engines and the design and features are actually top class!

Well not that I am an expert on this topic but I guess the buyer would complain after the first couple of weeks maybe wondering why the website isn't earning anything =/

Trust me.. I've had the same idea lol. Main reason it would fail is the buyer complaining.. Second I would feel bad for selling somebody a fake website essentially =/

Thats true. You could also buy traffic that searches for your site through Google and then clicks on links. I dont condone that. Basically if you do what the OP has mentioned then your basically a thief. Its not blackhat its stealing.

There many ways to steal from people and if thats a road somebody wants to take then thats up to them and Im sure at some stage they will reap the consequences.

Umm, but what if I'd have my friend transfer $10k a month to my bank account six months in a row, I'd withdraw the money from my bank account instantly, pay him back, then go to a bank, claim that this $10k is my monthly salary, get a $500k loan based on this fake salary and never pay it back? Pretty good blackhat technique I think! mfg:

Seriously mate, there's a difference between blackhat strategies and downright scamming people - the ones who do the first are generally bright minds while the latter are nothing but low-life thieves who deserve (and most likely will, at one point) to do some time behind bars.

My GF works for a main affiliate broker and they've got a huge problem with credit card scammers setting up affiliate sites and buying big ticket items with stolen cards.

They don't get the items as the card company picks up the fraudlent transaction, but by the time the affiliate broker is notified some weeks later the payout has already taken place so they end up doing it just for the affiliate commision!

That's a shitty thing to do but honestly, I don't see why it wouldn't work. As long as you covered all your bases and faked all your stats and didn't use an escrow service which would let them verify the site before paying.

Honestly, 80% of the sites for sale on Flippa are either junk, scams or have inflated income numbers; yet people still buy.

I mean hey, if you want to steal cars and do it properly (cover all your tracks, hire others to do the dirty work, find good buyers etc.) then there's no reason why it shouldn't work, right?

And the fact that there are many sites being sold already that are either scams or simply junk is merely an (extremely lame) excuse.

Apologies for being so straightforward but having been in this business for a while and seen a lot I can safely say that there's nothing that disgusts me more than low-life scammers (and those giving them advice).

Hey guys, the reason I started this thread was because I think I got scammed when I purchased a site at flippa. The site isn't converting and I have reason to believe the 2 sales it made before I purchased it were actually made by the previous owner. Is there anything I can do to get my money back?

Theres a lot you can try to do to get your money back but its doubtful that you will. In the future draw up a saftey checklist before you buy sites.

i don't call this blackhat...but BAD technique! if u consider to sell on flippa...them u're about to enter the whitehat world...so this kind of thing is unacceptable u will be in trouble for a long term reputation...

if u really want BH than just buy traffics to your site...maybe u'll be lucky to get the sales...but buying from your own affiliate links and announce as sales has been made is not a good idea...

built reputation on flippa...then u will be good...unless u want fast money and not interest to build an online business....so here u go...

if you want to use flippa to make money for a long term, then despite the 'wrong' and 'right' perception of this technique - then don't do it.

one of the main factor a seller on flippa always have his sites ended up sold is because he has this 'evangelists' that watch him. everytime he lists an auction, they knoe it's a good site...

Oh dear ! We have another one. Why would anybody sell anything of value. Go to flippa now and look at the established sites for sale. Ask yourself why the owners would sell them.

I have sold many money making websites, why ? Well many reasons they were quick to set up and selling brought in a chunk of change to repeat the process on a bigger scale so I could make more money thats just plain and simple economics.

You could say the same with houses, cars business, stocks etc. Its supply and demand. If you cannot grast that concept then Im afraid there is no hope for you.

First off I was being sarcastic. Second off, I highly doubt what I said was "advice" for a would-be scam artist. I would think anyone who is looking to rip someone off knows to "cover your tracks".

Thats exactly why, you need to do rsearch when buying on flippa. I'd want to see exactly who bout it, when it was bought, etc.
