Tips on launching an eBook?

There are plenty of funnel builder applications available online (both paid and free). Just do a google search. They provide ready to go templates in various niches (including eBook or digital products). Most will let you use your own domain name as well.

Festingersvault has several Wordpress plugins that make funnels. He will be back online in 2 weeks or so
You should take some of the publishing courses on Wsodownloads.in
Get a domain name and wordpress install for your publishing company
Then you should actually write your book. Use the "Chicago Manual of Style" and your own favorite book layout style to make it into a real book, not a crap book
Then buy your ISBN numbers from Bowkers in AUSTRALIA. They are cheap there. Use a mail boxes etc address in Sydney or a REgus Business Center
Google "Free ISBN Barcode" to convert your ISBN number to a bar code for the book jacket
Use VMWare to create a VM and install Adobe InDesign in that VM. Get it from CGPersia. Look for MonkRus version
Layout your book on InDesign. Watch Youtube videos
Apply for an account on Ingram Lightning Source (NOT SPARK)
Upload your book
Publish it and order a proof
If everything is ok, release it for publication. Soft Cover and Hard Cover. Worldwide distribution
SET THE DISCOUNT TO "Short Discount" so the pirates at Amazon only get 20% not 40%
Create your Amazon author page and correct the description that Ingram sent to Amazon. It will be trashed
I think Amazon creates the ebook and kindle thing
DON'T PUBLISH AT AMAZON. Those are "self published" and not taken seriously
PUBLISH AT LIGHTNING SOURCE and have your own company and allow lightning source to feed Amazon, Barnes Noble, etc

There are three steps to this to make it earn money:
1. Get your e-book in .pdf format added to Gumroad.
2. Publish your expertise on YouTube / Instagram / Google Search PPC and grab leads using whatever way you like.
I think Mailchimp and GetResponse have fair prices, although situation changes quickly.
You can start sales already on socials, but you can add both link to Gumroad and email list in comments / descriptions.
3. Send some mails and sell that book with a link on Gumroad. Do follow ups and all that stuff.

It'll just end up abandoned and the business is not gonna start.
If you don't earn money, you don't get motivation.
Get your first sale as quickly as possible. It'll give you the stamina and you'll get 2nd, 3rd sale. After some time you'll be looking at 500+ copies sold.

I would like to try the Gumroad approach but am concerned that it might cause payment withdrawal issues for non-US folks.

It's just an example. You can use any payment processor. Most are scammers though looking to steal here, steal there.
I'd simply learn how to make many paypal accounts and spend money on business immediately. They don't verify many people.
But that's only my way.
I know many people want to go to an ATM and have that cash, but... it's not worth it in my experience. Better make it snowball.
Selling ebooks is a lowkey scam itself, so don't expect people to be nice when they see what you're doing.
Better plan how to hide the fact you're selling an ebook.
If I was honest, I'd say $1 is a fair price for an ebook. It doesn't sound too expensive. Not many people will complain at $1.
Maximum I would charge for an ebook is $7.
