I have been on and off youtube but never really take youtube seriously. I have a fully monetised youtube channel and along the way I created more youtube channel and even buying monetised youtube channel
everyone of us including myself we want to make money from the start so buying a monetised channel seem right or if not than creating a rain sound video and buying 1000 subscribe and 4000 hours seem to be the way to get a channel monetised whether you think it is blackhat or not
sometime last month I came across a very interesting niche and I saw 2 channel actively doing it. I was looking at viral video all the time or those ai tools that can generate video with 1 click
scripts we can use chatgpt or even some ai tools come built in with a bot all you need is to throw in a prompt and a video is out but seriously when you look at the output if it is in 2014 that type of video is great but in 2024 it is very far off.
I have subscription to pictory, flexclip, capcut pro and a couple of others but none really can fit in
I decided to setup a brand new channel last month and I start posting my very first video on the 1st september 2024
it wasnt really a well made video in my personal opinion but it was good to get me started the video get me only 26 views as of today
my 2nd video was really ok or good in my opinion but 1 thing is the volume is too soft and I only realise it after uploading it so it didnt get a lot of view either 10- 20 views (I deleted the video a few days later and adjust the volume and reupload back and it has now 600+ views)
my 3rd video I really put in effort to do it to be exact it take about 4-5 hours per video
and I was about to give up and suddenly my video get pick up my youtube it wasnt much, if you recall my 1st and 2nd video get about 20 views each my 3rd video get 200+ views
everything i learn in the past keyword search volume, tags keyword keyword. In this channel I use another tricks or not sure if that help but i did not focus on any keyword or tags. I didnt spend my time on keyword research tags or description (all is generated by chatgpt) and it is all not targetted keyword and nobody would be searching for those keywords either.
this channel I do 0 keywords research. I wanted youtube to pick up my video naturally and not the old way of ranking video
dont get me wrong keyword is good for tutorial video, how to video, travel video, review video as people generally search for this video but this new channel the keyword is not really what someone would be searching for.
I look at my competitor, looking at their title and tags it was a bunch of rubbish that noone will search (it is not a big channel 10 - 50k sub) but they get 10K view within the first day usually
my focus was to let youtube pick up my video and push it out and not trying to rank
so it was a different ball game narturally
my 3rd video was showing me 200+ views on the first day which was when I was about to give up. So I tell myself why not let do 1 more. So I spend another 4 hours to do a really good video now in my opinion it can be compare to the bigger channel. I start with 3 subscriber which is my own account. I refuse to buy subscriber and fake views as I know fake subscriber and fake view will only confuse youtube algorithm as youtube will not know your precious target group
my 4 video suddenly get pick up by youtube even more and it hit 2k views in the first day, if you look at the screenshot, you can see all my view is from youtube recommendation, only 1.4% come from youtube search which i do not know what keywords they search for nor am I interested in it. I only wanted to get on youtube recommendation
so that 2k prompted me to do another high quality video another 4 hours, and it was another good start with 600 views and all is coming from youtube recommendation
I was publishing video every mon wed fri took the weekend break
the channel was at 3 subscriber (myself) to now it has 36 subscriber.
My conclusion the subscriber base is not equivalent to number of views you get.
I still need 1000 sub and 4000 watch hour to get it monetised. Was a little tired in creating the video.
I was using chatgpt for the content title descriptions and tags and most other I have to handmade the video and use a couple of tts
I dont know how long I can persist
I might update this thread when I need a small break or I may not. so the key for this channel was not about ranking and optimising keyword it is about getting into youtube recommendation. when youtube pick up your video and if it is good, viewer stay and like and you get more and it is a vicious cycle. my focus now is to do good quality video but it was burning out my time and I was not making money from this at all yet
