Mainly due to immigration policies, along with the stupidity of spanish laws and their overprotection of criminals.

I'll give you an example: Two thieves break into the home of an 83-year-old man, beat and torture him and his wife with the intention of making them open the safe. In a moment of distraction by the thieves, the man manages to grab a revolver he had in a drawer and kills one of the thieves. The elderly man has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison, in addition to compensating the family of the deceased thief with €20,000.

That's a good question. The answer is closely related to what I mentioned earlier about how ignorant the average Spaniard is. The hatred towards tourists, along with Airbnb or tourist apartments, is nothing more than the result of populist and self-interested propaganda by the media and politicians. In other words, it's just another game by politicians to keep citizens focused on something other than themselves and their corruption. Criticizing tourism and tourist apartments has become fashionable in the media and among the left, leading to silly situations like the recent one where people with water guns were booing and harassing tourists in Barcelona. And all of this in a country where 11.6% of the GDP comes exclusively from tourism.

Rent is tough; prices are through the roof, and there's little that can be done. As for food, I have a few tricks. For example, first-order promotions on Uber Eats—using Dolphin Anty and virtual cards, I've eaten almost for free for long periods.

I personally wouldn’t invest in properties in Spain. The laws are an absolute mess. For example, if someone squats in your property, it can take months for a judge to evict them. And during those months, you still have to pay for utilities. If you try to remove the squatter yourself, you'll end up arrested and having to compensate them. On the other hand, the issue of tourist apartments (like Airbnb) is very volatile—one day the government says it's allowed, and the next day they backtrack and threaten to revoke all licenses and remove apartments from the city. As I was saying, it’s not a very good scenario for property investment.
