Any tips for a YT beginer?

I just got into yt marketing and was looking for tips on how to increase my views, i am not looking to make viral vids or anything crazy. A few hundred views per vid would be good enough for me.

So far I just found some lady gaga interview, downloaded and uploaded it, copied the tags from the original video and only got like 50 views in 16 hours or so.

Any advice would be appreciated.

digg the video, it might help if those diggers like it i got one to 50k views on less than 24hrs and after it was deleted for copyright infringment, and all because someone digged it.

1.Don't just download/reupload...you need to actually reencode the video into a different format, or make slight changes to the pitch of audio track, as well as adding 1 second of blank (black) frame into the video. Watermarking does this also I believe. But for audio tracks, you must change the pitch if its a song!

2. The longer/more keyword rich your videos description is, the better. Some of the people that rank high for terms such as "weight loss" tend to use this method to outshine others. By long description...I mean LONG. By keyword rich, i mean KEYWORD RICH. I believe the max is 5000 characters.

3. How are you planning on monetizing your videos? if you say ringtones, might wanna consider something else. That method has been beaten to a bloody pulp.

I am new at youtube marketing too. I found a way to get very cheap views - and i comment and rate my videos with my own bot. But i haven't so much success with it. Maybe I choose the wrong topices, which was Trailers and online Gambling. The problem is for example, that my video (week old, 5 comments, 2000 views, 3 Backlinks) rank behind a video which has only 800 views and 0 comments. I can't understand this, but maybe it is because of the age. Or do you now more reasons?

In the next days I think I will try it with videos about smartphones and games..

You may also want to try creating a few fake accounts, rating the video(s) high and posting positive comments about it.

for views the best and cheapest way are traffic exchange sites or buy traffic ot embed it on your website/blog and ping it

Some good advise there, However how would you monetize music vids these days? besides lame ringtone offers! I have thousands of Music videos on DVD so If I encoded and watermarked them myself would you still need to change the pitch as it would technically be a unique encoding ?

I'm not saying you can't monetize music vids with ringtones, but if you were to do that I would say you'd need a pretty good domain and would have to be more creative than most.

Hi, certain songs that never get copywrite complaints...like from not well known musicians usually do not require to you change the pitch at all. Now if you were to upload a song from a very popular artist such as Lady Gaga, you will definatly need to take this step.

For reference...you can change the pitch up 1 semitone to avoid dupe audio content detection. This is enough to make it unique but not enough to distort the song noticeably.

The program I use to do it is Audacity...it has a batch mode where you can process (load then change pitch and save) many audio files while you sit back.

So basically, if the music videos are from artists/recording studios that actively pursue copywrite violations on YT you would be advised to take this step. Ohterwise, simple reencoding/watermarking should be sufficient.

thanks fellas. i am trying to use sony vegas pro to watermark and play with the pitch. problem is that when i download the flv, vegas doesnt recognize it. when i try to convert the flv to wmv, it comes out as avi and vegas only recognizes the audio.

any way for me to get vegas to work with flv?

Not familiar with Vegas but I'm assuming it is made mainly for AVI files.

Just use some conversion software available on torrent sites and convert your FLV's to AVI overnight if your doing a large batch of vids.

OR, find a watermarking program that works with FLVs. I think Moyea Video Watermarker is the name of 1 program that is capable of this but don't quote me on that.

You can post your video links in other relevant videos and just write anything with that like you had seen the same video here..or this one has got some good resolution or quality or anything.

You can also make account on tubemogul and attach all the sites. Then in the description of each give a website link which is redirecting it to your video. This way you can get traffic from other video upload sites like metacafe and all.

i finally figured out the video editing problems but i still cant get any viewers.

last night i downloaded a min. clip off the nba homepage. added an intro, watermark, changed the pitch. i only have 50 views in 12 hours. any ideas to change this?

I don't have so much success with youtube. I got "only" 100 views per day for 25 videos..
But maybe i will try to upload 100.
Today I saw a music video which gets 125.000 within 7 days. So do you think it is very important to be the first one who uploads the music? Or can I get views when i upload trailer a few days later?

I don't think you should copy other people's tags and descriptions exactly. YT hates this. Just find a lot of KWs that have to do with your video and use them as tags.
Then, make sure you choose a nice thumbnail and make up an exciting or shocking title that will capture people's attention.

Be creative, try to come up with something unique and weird. You want to choose a title that makes people want to click your vid no matter what. DOn't say "Lady Gaga naked pics!" Everyone uses that.

Try: "Pictures of Lady Gaga's used tampons!" Or something like that.

Look up w33dl0rd's view service. I've used it several times successfully.

If you are interested in ratings look up Jonezy. Just used it to pick up several hundred positive ratings.
