I recently built a website using a theme. Could the theme be the reason my website isn't being indexed by Google? I noticed that the theme itself doesn't appear to be indexed in Google.

Try to check in the google console, it may give you some tips on why they are not indexing it
Sometimes it's long, it happened to me that I had to wait like 2 weeks to get a blog article indexed

I have submitted the sitemap, but none of the pages have been indexed yet. When I tested the live URL, it shows that the page can be indexed. Could there be any other specific issue that might be causing this delay?

Maybe check if your website allow the robot for crawling in your robots.txt

Then I guess you should wait a bit, if Google doesn't know your domain at all it can takes long to start being indexed
Okay thank you for your help. Meanwhile anything I can do to speed up the process?

add your site into Google Search Console, dont forget to upload the sitemap, etc

Try to land a viral post on reddit or some social media. Usually gets indexed quick

It's unlikely that the theme itself is preventing your site from being indexed. Check for common issues like having a "noindex" tag in your site’s meta settings, ensure your site is not blocking Google via the robots.txt file, and verify your site’s sitemap is submitted to Google Search Console.
