Maximum Domains Per Hosting Account

I'm in the process of building a lot of sites/blogs (micro/mini sites/blogs, autoblogs, etc.).

I'm having hosting with GD and HG.

Now my question is how many sites/blogs/domains can I keep on one account? Unlimited like they really say or should I get a new account after a certain number. This question is mainly in regards to Google and the search engines and not my hosting provider.

Details about the sites -
1. None will link to each other and not much in terms of backlinking either initially because all rank pretty high. Later on might add external links via the route of SB or something similar but only if needed.
2. Only 4-5 page sites with CB and CPA offers in mini/micro niches and all transactions linked to the vendors.
3. Totally whitehat and no adult content in any of them.

Depends on your provider, but you might want to consider that if you have 10 20 or 30 sites/domains on 1 shared hosting pointing to the same site google will see this.

It's better to have 10 shared hosting packages on 10 different c class ip's than put say 30 domains/blogs on there and have 10 point to a site, 10 others to another site and yet 10 others to another domain.

Also use 10 different providers as google will see if you have the same nameserver if you only use 1 provider.

1 Blog might also link to another blog on a different ip.

Recently did this for a german domain. I was on pos 7 for a competitive keyword. Added 2 sites on a different domain, german provider and I am now on pos 3. Also keyword optimize thos pages.

Nothing wrong with same ip, they are thousands of domains on same ip whether it belongs to you or others so this is a total myth

You can build as many domains you want under one hosting account not a problem at all.
If you want higher ranking focus on building backlinks.

However if your bandwith is very very high daily, they might block your account and ask you to upgrade, but that is almost impossible with mini sites.

I understand what you said, but I'm not really going to be linking any of these sites with each other. Links will be from external sources like Ezine Articles or comments from different blogs, but each site itself will not link to another primarily because all are different niches and cater to different segments. In fact I don't think there will be any outgoing links from any of them ever except to the merchants/vendors.

In such a scenario does the option of losing any link juice even arise? The only thing they will have in common is a shared hosting and like you said nameservers. Right now its the Baby Plan but if need be I will go the route of Business or Reseller/VPS if need be.

I don't really see incoming links from external sources being the same (but that could be a possibility if tools like SB are used).

But the main concern I have is (even with no cross linking between them) will their being on the same shared hosting and nameservers etc. have any effect on their SERP?

Thanks! Right now the sites are highly SEO optimized and with less competition for their keywords and are ranking high because of this hence backlinks are something I've put off for now. I will build the backlinks slowly and over time though.

Like you say HG may block if there is excessive usage but in that case I will upgrade or move to different accounts.

My primary concern is after how many sites/domains should I get a new account for hosting?

That is very much true, and I've done that till now for personal blogs and websites.

But right now I'm onto something different where I"m building a website a day or sometimes even two a day, small but very niche specific and highly SEO ready websites and at this rate I will have a 100 of them in 3-4 months (at my current rate).

My questions are not primarily hosting related but what bearing will this have on their SEO and SERP seeing that all of them are from the same hosting with the same nameservers. Of note though that none of them will link to each other or even have any outgoing links.

I agree 20 per reseller hosting account. They are so cheap today use a couple providers to get a couple different ips, it does help with link backs.
If you need a good host let me know I will hook you up.

I agree with the earlier poster. If these sites are truly not inter-linked and are truly for different niches, you won't be penalized for having them on the same IP/Provider.

If you're trying to rank several sites for the same niche, you should put those on different providers.

As someone who works in hosting, My biggest question would be not how many domains are you going to host? but what your going to use on those domains, If your hosting a bunch of sites with wordpress running your going to start exceeding hostgators TOS under section 7A. Oh and by the way if you violate HG' TOS their refund policy is waived. Sorry UNLIMITED hosts piss me off. I worked for two of the big ones and both have great little nuggets buried in their TOS so they can legally claim unlimited hosting for disc space and bandwidth because they limit you severely on things like this.

Violations of the Terms of Service will waive the refund policy.
7a.) Resource Usage
User may not:
1) Use 25% or more of system resources for longer then 90 seconds. There are NUMEROUS activities that could cause such problems; these include: CGI scripts, FTP, PHP, HTTP, etc.
2) Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes at any point in time on the server. This includes any and all daemons, such as IRCD.
3) Run any type of web spider or indexer (including Google Cash / AdSpy) on shared servers.
4) Run any software that interfaces with an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network.
5) Run any bit torrent application, tracker, or client. You may link to legal torrents off-site, but may not host or store them on our shared servers.
6) Participate in any file-sharing/peer-to-peer activities
7) Run any gaming servers such as counter-strike, half-life, battlefield1942, etc
8) Run cron entries with intervals of less than 15 minutes.

So if your talking just a couple pages of HTML per domain your good, if your using php or mysql or even for some reason have to use front page extensions you may find yourself in violation depending on how many sites you have and how oversold your server is.

Thanks guys for all the inputs. I've decided I will keep it to 25-30 sites per shared hosting account initially. The sites themselves are not WP and basic PHP scripts and I will be having backups.

Will wait on hosting provider to see how it goes with say 30 and once the 30 are actively monetized then I can add another account and start fresh.

Can you off your input on a good off_shore (meaning off US, UK, AU etc.) reseller hosting that is reasonable with good resources that will allow BH techniques such as autoblogging, movie downloads/streaming, nulled scripts, comment posting using ScrapeBox, automated bookmarking, forum account making, automated web2.0 building, etc.?

I have been looking for quite some time and am here again looking.

well another option would be to simply get more IP's from your host. Then register new name servers and your good.

Give you a tip, i am with hg reseller account and not those baby plans and randomly they assign a different ip on different days. I think how they do it is adjust domains based on their quota so they dont overload the server and it is good for me.

Do check out and buy a reseller account and you are all set, like ghostpix777 said, you might get warning if you are using too much resources but I doubt your minisites are using even 1% resources at any time.

I was thinking of getting an unlimited hosting account, and provide free designing to people who shifted their hosting and took mine. The only problem is billing and of course it might become really slow. Do you think I should try to resell?
