I have been ignoring deleted domains and just focusing on the expiring auctions for my projects.

But yesterday out of curiosity, I asked ChatGPT if deleted domains are of any use.

To my surprise, it said they do carry some power but not that much as expiring domains.

Can someone validate this fact?

I mean if they still have backlinks pointed at them they really shouldn't be any different but someone can correct me if I'm mistaken

ofc they do, the thing is any domain that have the least amount of authority will go into auctions,
even expired (deleted) domains will get caught by the drop catching services and many of them do have some decent value,

you can get some valuable domains free to register for the less common TLDs and especially ccTLDs,
but you have to find a way to register them in most cases as they require you to upload specific docs

Plug the domain into any SEO tool and see for yourself

In my opinion deleted domains generally do not carry any ranking power as backlinks and SEO value degrade over time. If they are registered again they might get some value but it is not sure.

Still probably best to focus on what youve been doing as they are more reliable

Yes they do. They can have backlinks pointed at them which is website juice so some of them are valuable.
