Hello, the keywords I was to target have KD of like 0-10%. Is buying expiring domains(I'm not sure if the method was expired or expiring I hope you understand me) would that work for me to rank for these keywords? How risky is it? Can new website rank on keywords like that?

any domain can rank for any keyword, it's the SEO that you're doing that matters. Expired domains just give you a time and trust boost (ie. you rank higher, faster) than fresh domains, but you need to have a really good expired domain, if it's penalized or blacklisted by google you're screwed....

If you aim to rebuild a domain for higher visibility, a lot of experience is required.

The niche is crucial, as well as what the site was previously.

Simply using an old domain will not yield results. This is the most important aspect.

Not any domain as some domains get penalized heavily and once they have huge mistrust, they'll be considered as pure spam and out the game for months, year and sometimes decades. So don't build backlinks at all at first until you're 100% sure about what you're doing. Backlinks need to be quality or none. They must come from reputable sites, at least like social media. No-follow links from popular sites are better than trash do-follow links.

How to find them and what generally would cost?

Build on an aged domain with decent link profile
KD is relative and can vary across niches

I mainly use the site https://www.expireddomains.net

The price of domains varies widely. You need to purchase the most effective domain according to your competitors' situations and your budget.

When buying a domain, the first thing to check is whether the domain is still indexed by Google. Also, use the Wayback Machine to check what the site was previously.
If the site was spammy or part of a PBN, you could receive a penalty even after rebuilding it. Tools like Archivarix can be used to download and utilize the content.

The most important step is to check the backlinks of the domain using tools like Ahrefs.
Verify the topic of the previous site and the types of backlinks it had. Also, check the anchor text to ensure there are no spammy backlinks.

When checking backlinks, identify which pages need to be rebuilt. Determine which pages had the most backlinks and use tools like the Wayback Machine to revive those pages.

This is the basic procedure, but it requires many additional tasks. If you don’t have much experience with domain rebuilding,
I don’t recommend it. I’ve seen many cases where the cost of buying the domain is wasted due to incorrect reconstruction.

If the scale of the competitor's site isn't very large, I would use the budget for purchasing a domain to develop an alternative SEO strategy instead of domain rebuilding.

I think you should choose new domain. Kd isn't problem.

Buy a powerful domain from auctions or a reputed vendor.

The domain needs to fulfill the following:

Closely relevant to your target niche.
Needs to have great backlink profile with super relevant anchors.
Needs to have pages already indexed.
Needs to be aged with no history of being used as a linkfarm, pbn etc.

If you can find something that fulfills all the above it's a rare chance it won't rank for low competitive keywords.

And it will cost you a good amount but the amount spent is worth it.

These domains save you a lot of time and effort needed to build authority.

Realistically what price for domain that can rank for keywords 0-10% KD

The keywords I want to rank on are 0-10% KD, but there are many with 2-5% KD, so what is better approach as a begginer?

Price can be $300 onwards.
Can vary based on niche too.

Since I don’t know your specific keywords, I will explain based on general keywords.

Generally, for the keyword difficulty (KD%) you mentioned, if you have the ability to create web pages without rebuilding a domain, I would create about three websites. Then, I would choose the website with the best keyword exposure and optimization among the three to proceed with SEO work. For keywords with a difficulty level of 0-10%, this approach is usually sufficient.

However, there are exceptions. Keywords are important.

For black keywords, the keyword difficulty (KD%) does not matter; it is merely a simple metric. Keywords with high search volume and low KD% often have many parasite pages rather than well-managed ones.

These parasite pages achieve high rankings by using authoritative sites, but because they do not build links, the difficulty may be rated lower by tools if there are many such pages. In such cases, the actual SEO difficulty is higher than the indicated keyword difficulty (KD%).

If you have any questions about your keywords and market situation, I can provide simple assistance. Please DM me.

Buying expiring domains can be a quick way to build authority and rank for low-competition keywords (0-10% KD), but it's a risky strategy due to potential spammy backlinks and Google penalties, so it's often safer to focus on creating quality content on a new website, which can still rank well for such keywords.

My concern is more on the content than the domain itself because that is what really matters. If you will be using AI, make sure it is well edited and answers the topic directly

Expired domain gives your site instant boost. But you have to careful about that. Sometime some expired domain has high authority but that could be penalized also. Please check that before buy it. Also you have to maintain content silo on your website.

I meant in general, both fresh and expired domains can rank. If the domain is penalized or blacklisted by google of course it's not going to work, but I addressed the overall question (and I think that OP got the point)

So don't build backlinks at all at first until you're 100% sure about what you're doing. Backlinks need to be quality or none. They must come from reputable sites, at least like social media. No-follow links from popular sites are better than trash do-follow links.
I agree, but I've not mentioned anything about backlinks in my 1st reply, so I don't know why you brought this up :)

But yeah, OP should definitely focus on quality links initially....

I assume you're asking how to find expired domains, in which case the answer is simple: they're everywhere (Scrapebox has expired domain finder, DHG and Spamzilla can find expired domains, there's also a section in the forum's marketplace that deals with domains, you can also use expireddomains.net to find them, you can pay someone on Fiverr to find one for you if you trust the seller knows what they're doing and will give you good domain, etc... there are literally dozens of methods of finding expired domains, that's not the problem)

The trick is telling the good ones from the bad ones, because newbies (no offense intended) like you and me can hardly get anything good nowadays, most good expired domains are snatched up by professional domains before everyone else, so we're left with peanuts that can hardly make a difference in the SERPs. And in such case you might be better off using a new domain, at least you have the certainty that it's not on google's blacklist...

For fun, as a by the way to not forget the most important thing which is planning and time. A classic reminder.
Price can be $300 onwards.
I'm sure you can get "trash domains that rank" under $50. :D

You know, before i understood people are overselling to me, it took me decades of understanding. Couldn't believe all those findings@!

most important thing for what or who?? I remember we've talked about planning in another thread, but I don't remember what the discussion was about, but let's not dive into useless philosophical topics again and hijack this thread too...

You can reply to my question if you want, but I probably won't reply back if it's off-topic, so be prepared for that :)
