Hey guys,
I would like to know some benefits from people on here who got real positive experience from fixing their thoughts and behaviors or general lifestyle with therapy.

Started hitting the gym lately. But I'm also considering going for therapy from this new month as I have a lot to fix in my head, I believe.

my personal way of living is i believe god created us with a black box inside that should be left alone once you start digging you never know if the stuff you will dig up is solvable so it is best to leave it be and self medicate!

If you feel like it, go to a therapist.

I second guessed myself a lot if I should go to one, and that didn’t help at all. I wished I had the guts to go to one sooner.

Just don’t get discouraged if your first therapists don’t match with you. I must have went through three or four different therapists before I felt like I had someone who I really liked.

get a cat instead.
You caught me.

When I moved cities I left my cat to accompany my mother, so ever since that I have been shopping for cats nearly every day, haha.

Looking to get a Devon Rex within this year.

What I invented lately was really wicked and unrealistic.
If a therapist didn't warn me about the fact what I'm doing is delusional I would burn my nervous system by repeating that pattern over and over again.

I took my serious visions too lightly. I saw objects in my imagination rolling over 1000 times a second. That was straight crazy.
So, try to not imagine too much. Use imagination only when you have a clear benefit from doing so. Abusing it will create insane worlds you won't be able to deal with. Mathematicians can go crazy as you can see. I felt crazy when I was practicing programming too much and doing too much of that.

It's not what you do, but how and why you do. I was wrong about how to do stuff. As most kids are.
Business is too serious and complex stuff to go it alone. Better find a guide like a therapist.

After all that I drank 1 beer to chill out.

I'm forced into discussion therapy because of a <insert long story>. LOL, I have to meet a few people regularly, including Dr. I feel that they don't care much for your well being, they are just in their job mostly to pay the bills and going through the motions of not getting complaints.

I think the only thing that keeps me well is a positive working environment where I can drink, chill, and work hard to music whenever I feel like it. When you are more grateful for your situation, and you hold yourself accountable to your own happiness, then I don't feel it's anybody's business to listen and judge you on your problems. As you won't have any! :)

Yes, because I believe for some people meaningful change requires an outside perspective. I used to think I could fix all of my problems but maybe it's not the case. Better to utilize every tool we have in this universe.

Getting on a schedule and waking up early effortlessly put a lot of things in order for me. I became less irritable, was able to focus more, got a better diet, etc. But I recently got back into the bad habits and lost like 7kg...
But yeah I found that living by a schedule is damn important, at least for me.

Tell straight to that person about your impression and propose a change. :) They're noobs as everyone in the world. Therapists have a lot of clients and pay attention to those that show clear signs of being in need of help.

You have the right to believe it, just don't tell people to leave therapy and start self medicate, worst advice ever

What a fck was that trip man. How the f could I trip sober for 2 weeks. I was reading about the quantum physics and extrapolating it to our reality. That messed up with my reality until the therapist started yelling at me wtf am I doing.

Man, you can't do that sh1t quickly. As always I was too fast and I saw quantum world in our world. That sh1t was bizarre. Can't describe it with words as I would get an infraction... from my mind.

Mind is not meant to be taken easily. It's deceiving itself all the time - better get those people to observe your words cause words / thoughts can get tricky and entangled without end.

Look at those people. Imagine this is YOU. And now tell me how those people are doing. You do the same. ;) That's why you need help. Every therapist attends therapies and talks to doctors themselves. This is no joke.

I'm going back to earth stuff. Beers, links, USA traffic. No point in tripping that hard. `

Physical hard work only therapist in my life. I hope you need to try it.

I've been in therapy couple times for a few months each in my life. It did not help much because I'm generally self-disciplined and a self-starter and if I set a goal I start working towards it without needing external assistance. That by itself sorts out a lot of mental and emotional issues.

If you are able to get into good habits like the gym you mentioned and actually keep on those for an extended period of time I'd say do not go to therapy. But if you are unable to do that, therapy will help you.

I've been to many therapists since I was a child. Out of all of the therapists I've seen over the years, only one made a real difference. She was a nice lady who specialised in my disorder, but what really set her apart is that she was genuinely interested in me and made a real effort to help me. Despite her help, I would not say she 'fixed' anything, but she did provide me with some useful tools so that I could help myself in the future as I was fairly resistant to people trying to help me when I was younger.

If you can find someone like that, then a therapist is a great option. You should really determine why you need a therapist before seeking one out, though. If you're just looking for someone to talk at, then you'll have plenty of options because most therapists, in my experience, are simply in it for the money. If you want someone like the therapist I described, you'll have to spend a lot more time searching.

The gambling part. I think you have some impact in that and you can get the therapist on track but it's a skill.

I have sociopathy disorder mixed with high anxiety so they all are helpful for me. It's a very characteristic one. Quite easy to understand. :D Autism is very hard to understand.

I was stuck in this cycle for years: drugs, money, drugs, money, drugs, money. Damn it.
Not everyday, just every weekend with friends.
At one point I got arrested and understood what bs I'm performing in early 20s.
