AMP and Non-Amp Indexing

Are both version (amp and non-amp) of a single web page must be indexed or not ?

yes, both should be indexed and allowed to be crawled,
just make sure you're using the proper canonicals with canonical for amp pages and amphtml for non-amp pages,
with that and if everything is well set up, google should show the default pages for desktop and amp for mobile queries

if you're using wordpress, just install some well known plugin and it should do the work,
do not block any of the pages from being crawled and you're good to go

You only need to index the non-AMP version for SEO. Backlinks for both AMP and non-AMP versions can be useful, but make sure to use canonical tags to indicate that the non-AMP version is the primary one. This prevents duplicate content problems.
