I own a domain stdharmony.net which has a base for a dating site on it currently. Everything is functional and works but it is missing a few things that will bring it out of the web 1.0 realm of things. I am looking for a person who would be interested in a possible partnership to get the project launched as a whole. I don't have much capital but have an idea to bring people with STD's out in the open and match with people that have the same STD's in a romantic setting.

I know what you are thinking now, and no, I don't have any STD's I just see this as a lucrative idea because it is a market that hasn't really been capitalized on. I figure if it were to get big enough it could potentially sell to E-harmony.com PM me if you are interested in taking over the coding of my site, money would be slow for the uptake of the site but when it gets rolling I feel that it could be a huge success.

So let me get this right.. You're going to match people with gonorrhoea (for example) and send them on date?

Your first thread is about click fraud and your second one is about matching up people who have STDs? LOL!

hitman you gotta love it. The thread was more of a question than anything because I didn't know if it would work or not for the click though hitman

That is right pilgrim matching those people up I am sure there is a market for it, and right now there are no sites that currently do it well.

Dmoudy, I do love it. I believe there might possibly be a niche in what you are talking about.....but most STDs can be taken care of with some anti-biotics.

Genial Warts/Herpes are about the only STD I can think of that just doesn't go away....that and of course HIV, which I don't know if it's classified as an STD.

hitman do you think it would be better as a niche site rather than a dating site money wise?

No offence intended, just my sense of humour...

You might be better to change the name to gonorrhoeaHarmony, and perhaps do some TV advertising when it's really successful, sounds like a sure-fire winner to me.
The benefit of this approach would be that you could branch out into all sorts of disease-dating sites.

You could even franchise the individual diseases out for other sites, such as
pubicLiceHarmony.net
CrabsHarmony.net
UndiagnosedDischargeHarmony.net
RatherOddPeelingRashInMyCrotchHarmony.net
WhereTheFuckIsThatPusComingFromHarmony.net

I'm not sure if anyone could suggest any others?

I like STDharmony.net because it has a play on E-harmony.com which makes it marketable to them as well in the future.

I already have the punchline and everything "STD-Harmony You're not alone"

Gotta hand it to him, it's catchy. Worst comes to worst he might just get lookie-loo traffic from ppl that don't believe it's real (sic, ratemypoo dot com)

Niche? Absolutely. There are millions of cases of STDs every year and before people go to a doctor, they search symptoms online.

Dating site? I don't know bro. To be honest, there is nothing attractive about a woman with an STD. I used to think Pam Anderson was hot until she got hepatitis...but hey, you never know. STDs, HIV, Hep....those are all very real life changing diseases, and I'm sure when you get something like that, you feel alone and scared....so who knows?

Search Google and see if you can find some bloggers who have those types of diseases and see what dating is like for them.

Priceless!

BUT...

Suppose someone who only had gonorrhoea found their "perfect match" on your site...

went on a date...

and caught syphyllis and herpes to go with their gonorrhoea -

Could they sue you?

I think it has potential to become a solid dating site, I know it would never grow into a e-harmony, match.com but I think it would be solid for a companionship type site. I know there is at least a market for that unfortunately for me I don't know how to code well enough to be able to make it user friendly.

I seen a site like this about a few months ago when i was just browsing for new stuff and was getting promoted lightly.

Could actually make you a few pennies bro!

thats funny.. the assumption would be both parties would be infected by the same disease...possibly something similar....I dont believe there is a lot "action" on these std type websites.. then again a lot of people are desperate so
at the end of the day it makes the most sense.. you just have to battle public opinion to really make it big which is not easy to say the least

i think its a good idea, why dont you go with one of the wordpress dating templates, youd be up and running by the end of the week

I'm pretty sure that eharmony already matches people based on this factor. It's definitely been tried by the larger networks.

Uh, how would you handle photos? I mean, people would want to see people who they might be interested in, but having a photo posted also gives away some pretty personal information that can be used against them.

Isn't there already this site called Craigslist that does the same thing?
