Hey everyone, I'm having a hard time ranking 1st for a keyword. I've done almost everything in terms of optimization, but I haven't tried link building, CTR manipulation, buying reviews, or anything "black hat." While I'm currently ranking 2nd for the keyword, I'm curious if anyone has any black hat strategies to offer. Outranking the 1st place competitor seems impossible since they have the exact keyword in their name.

Try link building or citations and to buy reviews. If you're already #2, doing that for a month or so should put you as the #1 spot if you do it correctly.

A couple casual reviews, citations built over the course of a few weeks.

Do competitors research and find out their citations and press release approach. Follow the same. On top of that, CTR manipulation and request your friends and family to post some reviews. Hopefully you will beat your competitors!

When building citations, should they point to the Google My Business page or the website? The priority is to improve local rankings.

First thing you need to do is analyze the profile in slot #1
Once you identify what he's working with, you can create your strategy

Citations are all about NAP.

NAP should be consistent and accurate. It is not necessary to point out but you can add social profiles to give more authenticity!
