I understand thepiratebay is hosted in sweden where US copyright laws don't exist
but I remember a few years ago their .org domain was confiscated by the feds or something? and they had to go with new domains like .to or something?
but I went to their website just now and it's alive and searchable? what happened? how did they get it back?
I thought once your domain is confiscated by the feds you are done? like what happened to megaupload.
how is thepiratebay, being a .org website and under the governance of icann, still alive?

They have tons of domains now

thepiratebay is an emotion! no matter what happens it will not go down so easily. for them if one domain is jammed they will switch to another.

they have tons of domains but my question is specifically about the original .org domain
I know I am not hallucinating, I remember it was confiscated - hence why they came up with a dozen more domains
I don't understand how they are back up. megaupload got confiscated and it never came back
I have a feeling this is not the original piratebay and it's a honeypot run by feds
 
the owner is a part of a political shit and has many good relations in law and everything else, and is also a chad
 
Yeah I knew the got they site striked by the fbi or something but then I saw ever where come and visit our new bran site piratebay I was surprise they got it up and running really quickly.
 
They definitely are still rolling but to be honest, its not the same anymore, there aren't as many active users as before, the seeders aren't so many like before
 
After their .org domain was confiscated, they often switched to various domain extensions (.se, .to, etc.) to keep the site accessible.
 
my guess is that the feds have some interest in it staying up, otherwise it's very easy to take down in this time and age where control over people is at 90%

You again! What type of obsession of control!

Your heart beats without Bilderberg controlling that. They're controlled by natural forces. They can't win with mother earth even if they tried to.

I don't have time to research this TPB stuff but I found a lot of viruses there.

You can create your own civilization. There's not much they can do about it beyond attacking, but you can hide your civilization deep under ground.

that's my opinion, like it or hate it but it's mine and I'll keep it. And my "obsession" with people being controlled comes from noticing what's going on in the world. Not sure whether you fail to see this obvious reality or you're trolling me, but you're wrong either way :)

Anyway, what's your opinion on TPB being up? Because it will be just an opinion anyway....

  • The .org top-level domain is managed by the Public Interest Registry, which may have different policies than other domain registrars.
  • The site uses a decentralized system that makes it difficult to completely shut down.
