If you have $10m and feel like piece of s..., you'll make bad decisions and go to $0 + debts.
If you have $1m and feel like you have $10m, you'll make better decisions and go to $10m - debts.

Your post isn't specific enough, if the deal is that taking the $10M means you'll NEVER have peace of mind and you'll be clinically depressed til you die no matter what, then picking the money would be stupid.

However, if the deal means that you can obtain peace of mind and happiness still if you pick the money, then obviously you take that deal.

$10M on hands, you can earn whatever you want additionally but your peaceful mindset is not guarnateed! You might fall into depression anytime over silly things.

There's no long term shortcut, as all long term ventures require strategy which by the definition of strategy cannot be something short term.

"Short term" + "strategy" = oxymoron

We can bend the logic by creating impossible "lottery like scenarios" but we're living in the reality and writing fairytales ain't gonna make us grow.
