I've just brought Titanic.co.in domain name.. but I'm wandering if its legal to have it or not..
Is it a trademark ? and btw.. How much its worth ?

Btw,.. All the Titanic .com .net .org .info .biz .cc ,etc are registered by different people and few of them even sedo parking it.. So,... I think No problem having it ?

all depends on what context you use it i would guess but don't quote me on it

1. Titanic Of or relating to the Titans.
2. a. Having great stature or enormous strength; huge or colossal: titanic creatures of the deep.b. Of enormous scope, power, or influence

I'm trying to put info on Titanic ship.. just like Wiki... No videos,etc.. Is it okay that way ?
and Thanks a lot for the quick reply.

The ship itself would fall under UK trademark rules. That being said:

Who owns the wreck?
Under admiralty law, the owner of a ship retains rights to its wreck, unless the owner abandons it or an unusually long period of time has passed since the vessel sank. It is generally accepted when the White Star Line sold their company to Cunard the Titanic was not included in the sale because it had sunk and could not be recovered. A portion of the hull was insured by several insurance companies, none of which have ever stepped forward to claim ownership. To date, no court has awarded ownership rights, due to abandonment, to another entity.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. No one will go after you unless you get REALLY big and are taking a large chunk of revenue from them. Now, if you had a name like "Microsoft", i'd say don't waste your time, lol.

Titanic was the name of a cruise liner that went down. We all know that, but what most dont know is there are numerous claims and law suits pending. There is no way that they (claimants) could hold, claim or forever use that word. But.....but if you refer to the actual "titanic" then your going to have snakes on your ass faster than you can dance. That reference has many legal battles all over the world ongoing. Dont get in that mix.
Just a heads up. If your doing a hit n run campaign you might get away with it. Be carefull. Hate to see you had success and then they are on your ass! Bad Trip.
