I've been super into this huge YouTube Shorts channel with like 2 million subs. This dude was doing long-form stuff for three months before switching to Shorts, and his growth is insane. His first Short got over 9k views, and it's been killing it ever since. He's had a few videos go viral with hundreds of millions of views too.
He's never had one of those YouTuber slumps. Every single one of his Shorts gets between 6k and 10k views, sometimes even millions. So, I decided to copy his strategy.
I totally ripped off his posting schedule, titles, keywords, and even found the original sources of his content. I made similar videos based on his stuff. Within 10 days, I got 120 subs and 90k views.
But after like two weeks, my channel started tanking. The recommended views dropped off a cliff. Now, even though I'm posting 10 Shorts a day, I'm lucky if YouTube promotes one every two days. And the views are super low, like 200-300.
I've read tons of stuff about getting rate-limited or YouTube algorithm changes, and that sounds legit. But when I checked my competitor's channel, they're totally fine. They're still just reposting videos without changing anything, and they're still getting a ton of views. I'm so confused.
So, it can't just be a YouTube algorithm thing or me getting rate-limited. There must be something wrong with my account. Could it be my location, IP address, or something else I'm missing? It's super frustrating because my competitor has 2.9 million subs and 1.3 billion monthly views. They were even in the top 10 most viewed channels in the US for July. I have no idea what's going on.
Can someone please help me figure this out?
