Hi everyone,

I can't answer any threads on Hire a Freelancer and Want to Buy sections because I'm not allowed to sell any service in the forum unless I upgrade my account as Jr. VIP at least. I totally get it.

But when I try to bump my own thread, I can't reply to it. With all due respect, I don't think it makes any sense at all. I don't want to create a new thread for exactly the same thing. However, the current one has already gone down.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just trying to figure it out.

Thanks!

So, this is an interesting take on how this situation needs to be handled.

However, the reason this particular rule is in place, is to prevent scams from occurring and it's been quite effective. Regular members aren't allowed to offer services until they upgrade and that interferes with members posting the threads themselves who aren't upgraded.

As a momentary solution, you can always message a staff member/moderator to bump a thread for you. I've done that now for your thread.

I'm going to leave it open for @Diamond Damien or @Zwielicht to respond to as these are generally seen as big picture decisions and I'm unsure if they have something in the works for this, so I will let one of them respond.

Thank you for the dump and the explanation! Like I said, I think people should be able to reply on their own threads at least, but of course it's your call.

Thanks again, I'll be looking forward to seeing if there will be further replies.

You can always Report to Bump the Thread I guess.
And maybe technically its not simple to make it that you as non Jrvip can comment and others can in these Sections.

This summarises it quite well. I know it's frustrating not being to reply to your own thread, but if we allowed non-upgraded members to be able to reply to even their own threads, we'd just have a resurgence of that problem where they would start low-key selling in their own WTB thread.

I do think there should be a way to bump the thread, so I'll look into bringing this up to the rest of the team at some point. In the meantime, if you need it bumped, send in a report and ask a moderator if they can do that for you. I'll see if I can get something added to the WTB/HAF section rules permitting a thread bump request every now and then, but no guarantees on this.
