If you are referring to buying links on PBN sites that sell through an agency or marketplace then yes if the sites are clean and not spammed to hell. Make sure that any site you buy backlinks on has a clean backlink profile and doesn't have a million outlinks and 2 inlinks.

Is it possible to rank without SEO? Yes, it is. So I don't know why would anyone do some SEO when they can max out other things. SEO is just a little module in the whole system.

Whether it costs or doesn't, we will have enough money to pay for it if it's needed if we approach all available angles and form a multi-channel strategy.

I'm ranking some sites for test recently with just human signals and not paying anything for that. It ranks in about 7 days on easy keywords. The question is what type of sites... Not mine. People have some beliefs that you can't own more sites but it doesn't break any TOS that you own 10000 sites. You're a reputable media outlet at that size of a network if you deliver good UX.

Where is the limit? In mind. Not outside. That's the first thing. You look at the business, not at traffic source.

There are mostly starters on this forum speaking and why speak about business like we have $1m revenue monthly. Nonsense.

For an average person talking here all that is needed are domain bargains and outsourced links to freelancers or something like that.

This stuff doesn't even start and they speak about 1 million links looking at some deluded 3rd party analytics.

This is a problem with mind. People make such assumptions based on fancy numbers and forum stories (98% is mythology), and they don't even start. They look at fancy metrics and assume their fancy conclusions on a random forum is true. But people renting hq links in premium placements on auction domains don't link to bad UX sites with no strategy.

So okay, what can you do with links? You can add a module to system called "link adds". And how many adds and how frequently? 2 strong links a month, so $100 in link rentals a month. But people who rent links for real business won't link to a typical blackhatworld site. So it's a problem with lack of strategy. So after a year you'd pay $1200 a month for renting links.

And then you need to analyze, does that even make sense to invest $1200 in something you don't understand value of.
Cause $1200, you can turn into $50k on social media or some other strategies. If you get paid daily, $2000 a day invested quickly snowball.
SEO is not a snowballing stuff if you depend on links and singular articles.
If you have 5k articles for UX on site, add links.
