Hello guys, I have this website that got hit by algorithm penalty. No issue, no messages in GSC. I did not update this website since December, I started again only in July to update content. Website is 8 years old.

- I saw many toxic backlinks on and I disavow around 20 days ago around 3000 toxic backlinks.
- I also update all content (4000+ posts written manually, no AI). I changed all text.
- I changed server with a better one, now I have almost 100 on pagespeed insight.
- Changed all images.
- I started to update content, I’m adding around 10 posts weekly on my website.
- I removed some 301 redirect to cloak my cpa links. I added link that point to a clear domain with no follow attribute.
- I added plugin for internal links. Now I have related posts.
- I created Facebook page and added link from homepage to Facebook page.
- I have around 11k social signals only from Facebook.

What can I do now? I only have to wait? What can I change now?

Can literally take anywhere between month to a year for maximum effect. Keep working. Chillax.

I think you're too change-happy and you've changed too much too fast

Some things to consider...

1) the old URLs (that used to rank) haven't changed their structure. If they did, you should 301 every one of them to its new location before google visits the old URL, otherwise it's almost like starting from scratch...

2) you've not noindex'd something important accidentally (or maybe some plugin noindexed stuff by default) which prevents the new content from getting found by G.

3) you've submitted new sitemap to GSC so that google can recrawl the new content and links. If the googlebot is not loving you back (by revisting your site) like you loved it by updating the content with fresh food for it... well, you can wait until 2050 and beyond but you still won't get re-ranked

If everything's OK and assuming that the penalty is not more severe than what it looks in the screenshot (like, for example, google might have blacklisted your domain for whatever dumb reason they've come up with to blacklist the entire internet, they actually do this now)... or if the SERPs have not changed drastically since your site's downfall and somehow became dominated only by mega ultra rich corporations that you can't knock out of the SERPs your site should start ranking again anywhere between days to months. I don't think it will take 1 year like someone said, but it might take months, mostly because of the numerous google updates that break 10 sites with 1 update, fix 3 with the next update but break 20 more, then fix 5 more with the next update but break 60 more and so on...

changing the plugin should not affect your site's rankings. Sitemap plugins are just that: they make sitemaps, as long as all important pages are included in the sitemap and google sees them you're good. So I wouldn't bother changing the plugin...

Just submit the sitemap to GSC and check that all pages have been discovered.

invest in building a good link profile by outreaching to niche similar geniune websites or/and building your PBN

Focus on building high-quality backlinks through outreach, guest posting, or other white-hat methods.
It might take some time for your site to recover fully, especially if the penalty was algorithmic rather than manual. Being patient and continuing with your improvements should eventually lead to positive results.

Yeah, you did it all great. Stop publishing 10 articles per week instead publish up to 5 articles in a week that looks more natural. wait for sometime cause you did complete re-direct and changed hosting its like new takes time to gain back the traffic. Make sure you post relevant articles and while building links do diversify the anchors to reach more organic traffic.

yes, but you've updated the content on 4000 pages, I think you might want google to notice those changes

As a matter of fact, after going through all of these (changing server, changing content, probably changing URL structures, thus breaking internal linking structure too in the process, etc) it's actually mandatory that you re-generate the sitemap and submit the new sitemap (even multiple of them if your new URLs get split into batches of 1000 for example) to GSC. Otherwise I don't see how google can notice the changes (unless they crawl your site through links on other sites, but even then they won't crawl all 4000 pages most of the time, so yeah....

Take a few minutes to do this, it's not that hard

to be fair they do this a lot, but usually on big sites. If your site is small (in terms of indexed pages, traffic, etc) it won't visit you so often (might happen once a month), so you can see why it's best to just regenerate the sitemap and resubmit it as this guarantees the googlebot to visit your site within hours (usually within minutes).

And for real, it's just a matter of few clicks and 2-3 minutes of copy-pasting and hitting "fetch", you're not going to sweat doing it

I sent it separated, I think it’s the best instead of the main directory.
