Domain has backlinks to pdf

I found quite a good expired domain. It has a backlink from wikipedia, couple backlinks from average sites and one backlink from main news portal in my country. Domain rating in ahref is 81. But that backlink is to pdf file.
Could you suggest me please how to do the best? Do 301 redirect to some other inner page? Or maybe I can do 301 redirect to another domain? Or it will be suspicious?

301 to another page is fine.

You can also actually create that PDF file with relevant article and link to homepage and other pages. Treat it like a regular page.

There is also a grey approach where you create HTML page with .pdf extension.

thank you for good suggestion. I will think about it. I also wondering if I create a pdf with the backlink. Will it be more valuable than doing 301 redirect?

Yes, because it lowers the chance of the backlinks being removed.

You also get a piece or relevant content.

And it will be a solid a nice internal link(s) source.

The fact that the Wikipedia link is to a PDF isn’t ideal, but it’s still a powerful backlink. You could do a 301 redirect to a relevant inner page on a site within the same niche.
