Hi all -

I have an ecom brand on Shopify and I'm planning on investing more into organic traffic via blog posts. Right now I have 5 posts that are ranking and bringing in a bit of traffic. However I'm not a fan of Shopify's interface for blogging and much prefer WordPress. I've been thinking of setting up the blog section separately on WP using a subdomain (blog.mydomain.com). What are your guys' thoughts on this? Obviously I would have to 301 redirect all the blog URLs which is fine. I do have backlinks already linking to my posts on Shopify. I'm a bit concerned about losing link juice or messing up my rankings but I'm willing to risk it if it's worth it in the long run. If anyone is running an ecom brand using shopify and getting good traffic from their blog, I would love to chat about it. Cheers!

Hi bro how're you doing, actually there are much more interesting ways you can get pretty good traffics depends on your expected action from the traffics

Setting up a dual system adds to the time to your workflow and also lose out on shopify internal linking tools. But if you really want to use a different WP installation, there are ways you can use a subdomain as a directory in the same website using cloudflare. Might need a little tweaking but this will help keep the link juice flowing to the same domain.

Yes, first make sure you know how to do proper 301 redirect

There is an easy plugin in wp name "simple website redirect"

You can do a temporary redirect test with this plugin before putting it in permanent 301 redirect
