This is very difficult. There are programs for password attempts, but Instagram will block access due to constant queries. Try different methods to recover your Instagram account. If you have access to the old email, you can send an email to Instagram to report that your account has been hacked.

As mentioned above, you can try this via email. If you want to keep it very secret, you can delete the incoming login email notifications.
This is almost impossible, unless you have remote access to this persons device.. as even if you obtain their password, as soon as you attempt to use it from a new device, the owner will be alerted, and a notification will be sent to their email... and you will need to pass verification to get into the account, which would mean you would need access to their email or phone, depending on how they have their security settings set.

I would have to disagree, instagram will require verification from any new device that logs in the account, regardless of IP address. And even when you login the account, you will still only have limited access on the account for 14 days. Instagram added these security protocols a while back, for this exact reason.. people were able to gain access to other peoples account too easily.

There's a good chance you might get a notification, and two-factor authentication might be enabled, so keep an eye out for that
