Hello. I manage an e-commerce website, currently the meta tag description of my products is this:

"Buy iPhone XX at the best price. Free shipping worldwide. iPhone XX profitability and review."

The product I sell is not iPhone, but I wrote it to give an example.

What I want to ask is, am I being penalized by search engines since the word iPhone XX is repeated twice in the meta description? Or is this not a problem?

Considering that the same description is repeated for each product, but only the name of the product changes (iPhone XX, iPhone XV, etc)

Thanks for your help

Change the descriptions mate

Using keywords in meta tag description twice is not a problem. Make sure you don't stuff your keywords and optimize it to be user focused. Also ensure to highlight your unique selling point in the meta description

It's not ideal to repeat the product name twice in your Meta description. Search engines tend to prioritize the unique, informative and keyword rich meta description. Using product name twice, you're basically diluting the effect of the keywords and providing less value to your users.

You don't get a penalty for meta descriptions, but write meta that makes sense and matches the article/page of your website.

If your meta descriptions are not unique, users who see multiple pages in search results may find them less user experience and click through. Use the product name and relevant keywords naturally within the description, but avoid overusing them.

Meta descriptions are only a secondary point when it comes to SEO. They're not used for ranking purposes, and were only optimisable to try and entice more clickthroughs in the SERPs. As Google makes up it's own snippet in the SERPs 90% of the time, I pretty much don't bother with them any more.

Thanks for your answers, but they are all different :)
Some say that the meta description tag doesn't matter, some say don't repeat keywords twice, and some say that it's fine like this. So I don't know what to decide

meta description tag important but don't over optimized that and try to make it unique and sensible

Without meta tag description user don't understand your product. So, use meta tag description.

Search engines don’t penalize for repetition per se, but a more engaging and unique description could improve click-through rates. Try crafting a compelling sentence highlighting the key features or benefits of each product. For example, emphasize unique selling points or special offers to make each description stand out.
