So my video was ranking like 3rd spot or so for my keywords for a solid 4 months or so, and recently its been pretty much impossible to find unless i filter searches to find it. My clickrate also dramatically reduced... I havent done anything to the video though

any idea wtf is going on?

It's just lucky you got a spot there in the first place. YouTube won't just keep all the search spots the same forever on YouTube. Think about it, there are so many new videos uploaded every day and a lot of them will deserve a spot in the searches.

Yeah i see what you're saying but my niche is pretty narrow.

And the other videos that 'competed' with me are still up there in their respective places.

just make more of the same videos. copy the keywords and change them a bit, alter the video by trimming it and so on. basically you have a video that ranks well figure out WHY it ranks well and try to duplicate your success instead of just waiting for it to keep doing well.

They sometimes slap a videos ranking depedning on your keyword density in description, same with tags. Did you use same words over an over?

One of my videos was up front, it was getting lots of views, but i noticed a typo in the description, so i edited it, and it got pushed waaay to the back of the line.

So now I pre-write everything in notepad for each video, tags and all.

Can you explain this to me a little more. I have some videos that aren't ranking high in search despite having more views and ratings then the videos that are ahead of it.

Does having too many keywords or too long a description hurt your video?

i am having the same issue. Will youtube penalize for having too much tags or description even though they are related to the video?

Are the other videos on different video sites besides YT, I read something from Matt Cutts recently about the Caffeine update were he says that Google actually went out of it's way to help other video sites so as to not look like it's favoring YT.

I'll see if I can find the quote and post a link.
