Is This Going To Go Viral?

So I just started a fan page, and to give it a boast I spent $100 on advertising it.

After about 1 hour the page is up to 500 fans. Do you think it will go viral?

Dude should have just spent the money on buying page invites instead of using facebook ads peter shaw has a service for 10k invites for 15 bucks. mostly overseas users tho. 500 users might go viral but it really depends on the page

wayyy to early to tell. And 100 on facebook ads? Wow, theres much more things ya coulda done with that. IMO, that was poorly spent money, but hopefully it can turn out ok for you.

Well I got 493 clicks on my ad for $100. And I have about 600 fans now. So that means over 100% of my clicks are signing up (obviously people referring their friends too)

I think you have probably just wasted $100. Maybe you'll get lucky though if it's a good page.

you crack me up. YOu seriously payed 100 dollars for that many fans. Dude you seriously have no idea how the fb game work .

You better off investing those 100 dollars on adwords .

You guys are missing the point. I bought the traffic just to see how users would react to the page, I doubt I'll use FB ads for this in the long run.

I'm looking at my report and the point is...

Out of the 500 clicks I bought, 350 of those users 'opted' in and clicked
the like button. Isn't that a pretty good conversion rate, 70%?

Meaning 7 out of every 10 people that viewed my page clicked the like button.

Yeah, 70% is a really good conversion rate, but the fact you spent $100 to get below 1000 fans, its not that good.

100 percent true mate also i suggest srongly to op to capture their eails those are pretty strong leads make an fbml tab that contain a registration form and bribe them with a freebie
unlike marketers that use the blackhat way of marketing you can contact an ad manager and ask him to turn the fbml tab as a default tab

You hit the nail on the head. Although I would never spend $100 on FB ads in order to gain likes on one of my fan pages, I can definitely see why he did this. Most of the paid invites you will buy are overseas users, users who do not speak English, and/or simply do not give a damn about your page and its content.

after they disabled the default tab as fbml option here is the response of facebook official support forum admin

To be eligible for authentication, a Page must have greater than 10k fans or the Page admin must work with their ads account manager. If you are already working with an account representative, please contact that representative to begin the authentication process. If you do not work with an account representative, you can use this contact form to inquire about working with an account representative.

Also, for advertisers who don?t have a representative or 10k fans, and want to run ads and land users on a specific tab, you can still do so with standard Facebook ads by making their Destination URL as the URL incl. your tab. Unfortunately, this currently will not work with "Fan" ads.
