Google disavow tool - is it even working??

Hi everyone!

I am here to ask SEO gurus about the google disavow tool. About a month ago someone did a pretty big SEO attack (over 6k pron backlinks), so I decided to disavow them. Now it has been over a month and yet they are still there.

When talking to people in my niche, they said that lately Google is pulling off some tricks and that we are all left with no information, all we can do is guess. They also struggle with the disavow tool.

I know that here are some elite SEO experts and I wanted to ask you guys. What is up with the disavow tool, do I really have to wait months for the links to be removed and to get my site back on track?

P.S. I have correctly submitted and created the .txt file.

Google Disavow tool is effective, but often taking several weeks to months for full results. Disavowed links may still appear in backlink profiles since Google ignores rather than removes them. Check your disavow file is correctly formatted and focus on clearly toxic links.

The results are not instant and thus you need to be very much patient with the tool .

Disavow tool works depends on different factors, We also consider the crawling and indexing activities of google.
Some times it will take few weeks to works perfectly and even some times it will take few months.
In your case since you said you have disavowed around 6K + backlinks this might take longer than the expected time. So please be patient for few weeks and check the results.

At the same time, I found the links on semrush and installed it. And I turn all my posts into drafts and share them every 1 hour with the help of code. Thank God, my site is now indexed.

You need to be patient and it will take few months. If needed you can resubmit the links in the disavow tool again. We've resubmitted the links multiple times in the search console for one of our clients in the past and it worked.
