Reddit warmup - complete? Is it safe to use the app again, or in a 'normal' browser?

Hi everyone,

I got a site-wide ban on Reddit about two weeks ago. 6 days ago, I created a new account and have been using it on my S24U, where I used the Reddit app and got banned. This time though, I used an old and obscure browser noone uses as well as an anti-detect browser w/ a proxy on my pc. 6 days in, I've got 3000 karma and no shadowban. It seems as though this may mean my account has been warmed up sufficiently, but my question is: would it be too risky to download the Reddit app again on my S24U? I don't use a proxy on my phone, just a local vpn and nextdns (not sure if that does any good or not). I desperately want to avoid a shadowban again, what's your guys' opinion on downloading the Reddit app again in my circumstances? Has enough time passed? Will Reddit detect my IP using the app (as opposed to a junky browser) and shadowban me still you think? I only use mobile data and called my ISP to refresh my data which gave me a new MAC, and was supposed to give me a new IP, but I have no idea if it actually gave me a new IP, and dunno if it's still crucial or not considering the site wide ban. Thanks for any thoughts.

I think it's too risky, cause reddit may collect your device's IMEI (individual ID for each mobile device). About VPN: I don't know, which IP-adreses they use (many of static or mobile proxies)

I didn't think about that, ur right about the IMEI. would they not be able to collect it if I'm using it in a browser? I'm guessing not since that's what I'm doing and I haven't been shadow banned after one week. I can't believe this garbage app collects these things. is there an app that prevents collection of things like IMEI upon installs? or is that what proxies are for?

It's still risky to download the Reddit app on your S24U without a proxy, as Reddit could detect your IP and reissue a ban. Stick to using obscure or anti-detect browsers with a proxy to avoid detection.

proxies do not fix IMEI collection. as you can read in reddit's https://www.reddit.com/policies/privacy-policy:
We may log information when you access and use the Services. This may include your IP address, user-agent string, browser type, operating system, referral URLs, device information (e.g., device IDs), device settings, mobile carrier name, pages visited, links clicked, the requested URL, and search terms. Except for the IP address used to create your account, Reddit will delete any IP addresses collected after 100 days.
you'll need some kind of hardware id spoofing app cloning type setup

I have been wondering the same thing!

Let me know if you get anything

Reddit is such a headache lol

Lets figure it out together
