Has there been any recent Google update against blogs made on aged domain ? Or is it probable in near future ?

there was one some months ago that targeted expired domain that have changed the niche drastically. For example, if you've found a "good" expired domain in the wedding planning niche but you turned this domain into car repair topic then you'd get blacklisted by google

That's the only update I know of...

There is no current updates against expired domains as @tazarbm explained.

They tried something, but if you look on SERPS they did nothing against it. There’s still huge amounts of spamdexing with aged/expired domains which changed the niche.

As everyone mentioned above there is no update on aged domains !!

So the change they did , failed to show any impact of serps ?

In fact expired domains are working better than ever, but niche has to be relevant

3 of my blogs on expired domains dropped.

A lot of client blogs on expired domains dropped too.

Had to work to regain those rankings.

So, definitely been affected.

After how long the drop started, I am running few projects and they are growing but they are under a month.
I believe once you get certain level of traffic, Google expects more fresh backlinks, if backlinks stop coming, the rankings start tanking

The drops i got were in the march core update. Where google started targeting Expired domains and abuse of such sites.

It has since then, updated a lot to reduce parasite seo and expired domains.

Google was not completely successful in this , parasite SEO still works and expired domains work with a lot of due diligence , careful selection and precautions.

As for the links, i dont think google expects fresh backlinks.
There are 3 reasons google tanks you after giving initial traffic ( These have no relation with expired domains ) :

1. Your CTR is bad, content quality is not upto the mark and bounce rate is high.
2. Your site does not pass its basic EEAT criteria .
3. Your technical SEO is bad which gives users a bad experience and core web vitals are bad.

Hmm, it is something that needs to be explored, i am planning at least 10 new projects on expired domains, let's see how this goes

Best of luck. Update this thread with your results if possible. Always excited to see new experiments.

It's been a while since you last commented on this, but I have a question
If I purchase an aged domain that was previously used for an e-commerce site and repurpose it as the landing page for my gambling site, will Google still rank it effectively despite the change in niche?

This will certainly be a red flag.
