Just saw the news as well. Not your keys, not your money. ;)

edit: The scary part is that it was a multi sig wallet that got hacked. No idea how the hacker managed to do that… Probably half of the quorum got hacked or something.

It's inevitable for these platforms. Even crypto.com was hacked once.

or they found some kind of exploit in the wallet sc.

Yeah, screams exit scam to me.

Ledger and hardware wallets is the key imo. No exchanges unless you are cashing out everyday as you receive payments.

This is what I was doing on WazirX so far. Used to cost me a lot in terms of TDS and fees but it was a good way to safely convert USDT to fiat.

P2P selling would have meant possibility of scam money hitting my bank account.

IDK where I would be able to convert crypto to fiat now. :(

A lot of people get their bank accounts frozen due to this. And getting it back is tough. If the complaint is filed 2000kms away, you'll have to travel all the way to that police station.

TDS is only 1% when you sell, the real tax hits when you file your return, have to pay 30% tax.

Exactly. And there is always a possibility of the policemen trying to extort you to get your name cleared as well.

P2P is an open invitation to trouble. I said this very same thing in a thread where the OP was trying to convince people to do P2P trading as a business.

Never heard of ''WazirX''...did some research, it's something in India, is it a wallet or an exchange?

I think they're might be more to this story than someone hacking.

I wonder what is not being told?
