Can't Follow on TikTok

Can someone pls tell me what is up with TikTok 'following'

I have multiple accounts (new, 'standard', highly engaged, old, etc)

on ALL these accounts I am not able to 'follow' or even 'follow back' individuals or ppl who have followed these accounts.

I have used the browser, the PC app, and mobile.

I have had other team members use the accounts and we have done internal testing... I can't find what the problem is?

the only way to message someone is by a 'mutual follow' and we LITERALLY can't follow accounts (even when going through their content, liking it, leaving comments, etc)

Have I gone crazy?

pls someone put me out of my misery or pls tell me what the problem is.

Not being able to follow anyone is normal on new accounts. It goes away after a few days.

If the account is new, you need to warm-up for few days.

At the beginning you should be concerned about watching videos like most people do
Consume their content first, then you can try to perform other actions like following people

Since its a new account you are probably rate limited.

New accounts are like that, if you want to follow someone else it may take you about 2 days
