#1 Rank on Yahoo

I've got a website that is ranked #1 on Yahoo for the two words typed in the search "xxxxx coupon". There are 3.5M results for the same keywords.

However, I am several pages back on Google and do not even have a PR1 rank.

What would cause this? I have submitted the site to many directories but not a massive amount like Scrapbox, XRumer, LFE or some of the others would do.

Dear Friend, try make this steps, create in the goarticles a text with +-500 words talk about your page (your two keywords), and ping him, after use the identi.ca (create your account there), and ping him too. And search in the BHW others tips that will help you.

Thanks criacaosites - I'll give it a try. I have never tried to optimize a website as it does not currently fit into my business model but this is a unique website and only a limited number of people can take advantage of the offer (25 per year).

I have always ranked well in Yahoo way before Google. Probably because Yahoo isnt used as much as G so you can rank quicker with them.

It is interesting that people say that they rank better on Yahoo quicker than on Google. For me, it is the other way around. I am like in the 16th page on Yahoo and on the first page of Google. I cannot figure out why.

I agree with rocs comment. I only learned about the Yahoo rating when looking at where my traffic was coming from and learning that it was via Yahoo. I used Yahoo Search about 12 years ago but never think about it nowadays. My eyes are trained to filter the Google results and when I go to another search engine, it takes me longer to find what I am looking for as I have to process the results differently. Maybe the Yahoo rankings are worst to best and my site is actually the worst ranked Yahoo site. haha

Either way, to be in the #1 position out of 3.5M others is pretty good. Google has 4M results for the same two keywords but I'm on page 8.

thats pretty good. The traffic I get from yahoo is peanuts even when im on the first page for keywords with many results. I would rather just get a good G rank anyday.

I rank much better in Google. I think that it must be on the techniques that we are using. Some techniques work better for certain search engines.

Google - links. Yahoo on site optimization and site structure. Every site I build performs really well in Yahoo even b4 they have any links. Iv'e got one at P1 on page 1 for kw that returns 57m results.It went straight in at P1 and is still there 9 months on. Wish to fuck I could do it with G.

I have a site ranking first om yahoo for a very searched for keyword and i got 3 or 4 visits. I hope my yahoo rank is just a prelude of what will happen to my site on google

Google seems easy compared to Yahoo. I guess whatever I am doing is not good for yahoo. Google loves spam!
