Is most blackhat dead?

At least on this forum. I see not much blackhat here, most people seem to focus on white or and worst greyhat, but rarely blackhat. Maybe too much competition. What are your thoughts?

A member here made a really interesting argument related to this topic once. I am assuming the domain you are referring to is SEO here. What they said was that search engines are basically a bunch of algos made up of code and as long they are that way, someone will figure out loopholes and make use of these 'black hat' methods.

Think about it for a bit. You will find this argument interesting as well. So, no blackhat isn't dead and it will never be at least in the near future.

I don’t know about SEO but in general terms, of course!

At the same time I imagine ‘a lot’ of BH methods are not viable super long term, especially if you disclose them. Ofc, with exceptions.

BlackHat will never die at least not near. It depends on how you use the tools and your ideas about the meaning of "BH". You can separate most of the BH context about websites into SEO, Alternative Ways to make money, Traffic or social interactions.

I'm not sure what you mean by blackhat, but I even got an ad on facebook promoting Parasite SEO, never seen that before

Personally I see that BH is stronger than ever. Google is really fkd because of this and I only see that their market share is dropping each single month.

BH is fun if you are in this forum, but from a collective standpoint, it only hurts the system. And the system seems to be bleeding non-stop. Now Google is trying to put a tourniquet by mass spaming Reddit/Pinterest/.. sites on top positions, because they don't really know how to stop this hecatomb
If the head of SE in Google was Japanese, he would do the Seppuku.

The Lounge is for non-internet marketing topics excluding politics & religion, and other marketing topics that don’t have a specific category and/or sub-forum.

Black hat is still alive and well. All programs and software dedicated towards spamming backlinks is black hat.

A lot of things that fall under the grey area were once considered black hat. There are dirtier tactics that are deep black hat that we’d really not have discussed on the forum for liability purposes.

But for the most part, black hat is alive & well.

BH still works, but BH methods that really work aren't shared publicly any more.
This forum is great to learn the basics of (legal) BH, but then you need to work out your own methods.
