But what I'm thinking about is that it all started in childhood. People want to do x like create a game, they do that and it ruins their lives instead of making it better ie. Programming.

i use wp mostly because its plug and play, but jezus its stuck in the past like 15-20 years behind other page builders, whoever came up with the Gutenberg update is an idiot 3 plus more clicks to do same shit you did with before... streamlining my ass

plus if you don't want to use the barebones version but also have some extra functionality you have to install a shit ton of plugins, and at that point it becomes so bloated that you might as well code the entire thing yourself

It's certainly a freemium solution and I've discovered that it fits mostly small ecommerce businesses with some capital. If you don't have some capital for website, you can't achieve much with WordPress. Unless you start coding in it but then it becomes pointless.

I just heavily got into programming in WP, and I can say, as a basic user most of my life, I think it's great; you can build so much easy functionality on top of what a robust infrastructure it is.
