Hello BHW community,
Lately, LinkedIn has been super strict with automation and fake accounts. If you're into web scraping and want to avoid getting your accounts banned, follow this comprehensive guide. I've compiled some solid tips and strategies that have worked for many of us in the community. Let's dive in!
Lately, LinkedIn has been super strict with automation and fake accounts. If you're into web scraping and want to avoid getting your accounts banned, follow this comprehensive guide. I've compiled some solid tips and strategies that have worked for many of us in the community. Let's dive in!
1. Use Anti-Fingerprint Browsers
First things first, you need to mask your digital fingerprint. LinkedIn’s algorithms are getting smarter, and they can easily detect multiple logins from the same device or browser. That’s where anti-fingerprint browsers come in. Browsers like Dolphin Anty, Gologin, and Multilogin are lifesavers. These tools allow you to:- Simulate Unique Browsing Profiles: Each session can be set up to look like it’s coming from a different user with different screen resolutions, operating systems, and even time zones. This makes it incredibly hard for LinkedIn to detect any suspicious activity.
- Manage Multiple Accounts: With these browsers, you can handle several LinkedIn accounts on a single device without leaving any traces that could link the accounts together.
2. Choose the Right Proxies
Next up, let’s talk about proxies. Your choice of proxy can make or break your scraping efforts. Here are the top picks:- Residential Proxies: These are gold because they mimic real residential connections, making it harder for LinkedIn to detect that you're using automation. They’re a bit pricier but worth it for the anonymity.
- 4G Proxies: These are even stealthier, as they appear as mobile device connections. They’re dynamic, changing IP addresses regularly, which adds an extra layer of security.
- Rotating Proxies: These automatically change your IP address at intervals, reducing the risk of detection by making it look like your activity is coming from different locations.
3. Account Selection and Acquisition
To minimize the risk of getting banned, it’s crucial to use the right type of LinkedIn accounts:- Aged Accounts: Always go for accounts that are at least 3-6 months old. These accounts have a usage history, making them less suspicious than brand-new ones.
- Verified Accounts: Opt for accounts that have already gone through LinkedIn’s verification process. This adds an extra layer of credibility and reduces the likelihood of being flagged.
4. Warm Up Your Accounts
Jumping straight into heavy activity with a new or recently purchased account is a surefire way to get banned. You need to warm up your accounts gradually:- First Two Weeks: Start by scrolling through your newsfeed for a minute or two each day. Follow a few profiles and companies, like and comment on some posts. This helps to create a natural-looking activity log.
- Gradual Increase: After the initial two weeks, begin to slowly ramp up your activities. Start with small numbers of connection requests, messages, and profile views. Increase these actions by 5-10 every 10 days.
- Diverse Activities: Don’t just focus on one type of activity. Engage in posting content, participating in group discussions, and responding to messages to make your profile look genuine and active.
5. Respect Activity Limits
LinkedIn has strict limits on the number of actions you can perform daily and weekly. Staying within these limits is crucial:- Profile Views: Begin with 5-10 views per day and gradually increase to a maximum of 80-100 per day.
- Connection Requests: Start with 5-10 requests per day. For free accounts, don’t go over 20-30 requests per day. For Premium accounts, you can increase this to 30-50 per day.
- Messages: Start by sending 10-20 messages per day and increase this gradually to 50-75 messages per day.
6. Monitor Performance Metrics
Keeping an eye on key metrics will help you avoid raising red flags with LinkedIn:- Social Selling Index (SSI): An SSI score above 80 indicates a trusted and credible account. Use this as a gauge to decide when it’s safe to increase your activity.
- Acceptance Rate: If your connection acceptance rate drops below 50-60%, reduce the number of connection requests you’re sending out each day until the rate improves.
7. Set Working Hours and Action Intervals
To further mimic human behavior and reduce the risk of detection, configure your accounts to operate within specific working hours and include intervals between actions:- Working Hours: Set your automation tools to perform actions only during typical working hours (e.g., 9 AM to 6 PM). This helps make your activity look more natural and less like a bot.
- Intervals Between Actions: Introduce random delays between actions. For example, set a delay of 30-60 seconds between profile views, 1-3 minutes between connection requests, and 2-5 minutes between messages. This spacing helps to replicate human activity patterns.
