College funds are what I do for all my grandchildren as a college education is much more valuable than the actual cost of the education if used properly so the college fund money is multiplied for them.

And buying a house with a small downpayment is not something I would suggest in every economic era and I have no crystal ball to guess what the economy will be like at the time they turn 18.
