Hey guys,

I'll get straight to the point. Is it safe to change the links in your already published articles on ezinearticles?? Will that be a problem?

Any input is highly appreciated. Thanks!

i have done in this in a couple of articles, they gotten taken down by ezine for reviewing again, but my ranking did not get affected.
they were backup in 24 hours as i have a platinum account.

I read that about 80% of the articles that are resubmitted to Ezine are for changes in the resource box. I think they are pretty used to it and it should not be a problem as long as you landing page link isn't an affiliate link, or a site with hardly any information to offer.

@secretboy. This is a big. I am talking about editing about 500 resource boxes and putting new links that all point to the same website. Not the same URL but the same website. You think that would be a problem?

@Ramsweb. I am talking about in terms of google. Will google have any problem with that?

try changing 5 to 10 articles first.
the position of articles in google wont be affected much unless you have a regular account(which will take around 4 to 5 days for the article to go live again).
but the site to which you are going to point all these links might experience google dance if its a new one.
this is just from my experience.

I really doubt if it is going to cause you any problems. I haven't changed 500 at a time but I have changed 10 or so at the same time and they got indexed pretty quickly.

Google also gave me a small jump in the SERP's. I don't see how it would negatively affect you. If you are really worried, do about 50, see what the effect is and then do the rest.

Jeez, 500? That should get the new site a nice boost in the serps :)

What I would maybe do is stagger them over a period of a week or two, just in case.

Thanks for all the reply guys. Really appreciate the help. :) I think I'll change a few first and see how it goes.

This will not affect your position at all, unless you start making drastic changes to articles. What EZA do is this. If you edit a live article they leave the original article live and as far as google is concerned the article is not touched. Then EZA look at what you are changing if you are changing the resource box they will then put this modifed article up in place of the original and as far as google are concerned it happens immediately and it will appear to be the same article, unless you make drastic alterations to it. EZA are doing this to protect their own arses and stop google penalising them when articles suddenly dissapear from view.

The only thing you have to be careful is that EZA's rules have gotten tougher. Articles that may have been approved in the past, may not be considered acceptable anymore. And once you get rejected, you need to completely rework the article -- otherwise it's removed. I've had several articles that were approved the first time, but after correcting a grammatical mistake or changing the resource link months later, got rejected. This is particularly true for product reviews (they hate anything overly promotional).

Iv had no problem when I have changed links. My main issue would be with how worth while google wise it is. Im sure the ranking wouldnt drop however I don't know whether google would change how it viewed the links value after being changed. We just did an update on our site where we changed some links and google slammed us for it.
