Hello, brothers and sisters:

I am in Australia and need to transfer small amounts ($20-40 per week) regularly to a kind person who lives in a sanctioned country. I can only transfer money to them via cryptocurrencies.

All Australian banks are firmly against cryptocurrencies, so I can't buy them directly. Until recently, I used the Binance (later ByBit) cryptocurrency exchange and bought crypto from people there using Wise via P2P to transfer my AUD to them. My recipient was also registered on Binance, so the rest was easy.

It seems that the whole world is scrambling for cryptocurrencies. Not sure how to make small transfers now? I was going to try Revolut, but then I read too many reports about them being unreliable.

PS: I prefer USDT (Tether) because I only use cryptocurrencies as a transfer method

Why don't you keep using these

Try P2P hopefully Easley buy USDT.
OP, if you decide to do P2P, only choose traders with excellent reviews. Lot of scams happen in p2p trades and even exchanges cannot do much about this.

Have you tried bisq or bitpapa yet? They’re both solid P2P platforms I’ve used that support a large amount of payment methods as well as cryptocurrencies.

To send small amounts to your friend, try P2P marketplaces like LocalBitcoins with bank transfers or cash deposits. Just find a seller with a good rep!

OTC desks might work too, but do some digging for reputable ones in Australia. Gift cards on some exchanges are a last resort - fees can be killer. Remember, stay away from shady deals, always check seller reputation! Good luck helping your friend out.

I thought LocalBitcoins closed down like a year ago (if not more)?
