Hey, I'm almost done editing together a compilation video featuring archival footage of real-life gore, dismemberment, war atrocities, road accidents, etc. The video as it stands runs about 2hrs 15mins long, just need to add the disclaimer, intro and music. All of the footage is public domain.

Would it be feasible for me to sell this video online for $25/download and market it online to demographics like metalheads, goths and horror-movie fans?

Niching down (that much) is not a good idea, it is thrown around a lot but eventually leads to making social outcasts your customers, causing a bunch of problems with your mental health and social standing.

I suggest you get into amazon, ebay and etsy. It's better to make small profit per item sold but sell big quantities than sell some deepweb-tier item for bigger profit but losing your future in the meanwhile.

I did eBay for a long time, currently having issues sourcing products to sell and sales have historically been few and very far between. Even on stuff I had priced WAY below market sat for months and still had lowballers.

Improve, become more competitive on ebay. Find a solution to every problem, maybe move to etsy.

You have a specific idea of what metalheads, goths and horror movie fans are.
In reality they're some of the most creative people!

I think you could shill it on Reddit and image boards, and TOR.
I think it would be like a pack 1000 pieces HQ 4K super visible stuff... now only $49. Real value 1000x$10 = $10000!!!!

But is this nice and legal? Personally I feel like a piece of flesh thinking about it. :D

You basically would need to target psychopaths, sociopaths, young unhappy people who want to show other people how strong they are, so they can say "I HAVE A LIBRARY OF 1000 VIDS IN 4K!" and such. I don't know what do they do. Attribution is not my thing.

You can do happy things and make a lot more money, so I don't know.

I watch this kind of content, I'm a horror fan
But we are used to watch it for free, bro
Maybe you would need to lie...tell people that those videos are forbidden, banned in 500 countries or something else to make it unique
Well, idk...Paid videos are generally something really extreme and are generally related to criminal stuff

i agree with @Monzani. everyone is used to free free free.
look at top gore sites theync, efukt, krudplug, goredb etc. nobody is selling vids.

perhaps show a trailer that's a few minutes long and lock the full vid behind a purchase link.
thats probably route i would take. make a trailer > post it on all the top gore sites and socials for traffic.
trailer has watermark to your website / sales page where users can read more about it and buy the full mp4.
you can go step further and contact those gore site webmasters and setup some affiliate commission partnership/buy sponsored posting/banners.

What if you try to scale and you actually start making your own gore? o_O:devil:
there are people that make it
for example, self injury or weird porn with extreme fetishes
record and sell this kind of shit xD

anyway, i think that OP should try to create a paid private group
that allow people to have access to it by paying a monthly subscription
OP's work would be selecting some unknown videos and less popular content to make it unique
