Disavow - is it still effective?

What do you think? should I still find the high-toxicity domains and Disavow them on google?

Today I checked my website on semrush, seems like since Jan 2024 there is a sudden spike on backlinks, thousands of them.

So I ran the audit and noticed tons of pages from websites of an irrelevant niche are anchoring my website.

If that's still effective, I should upgrade my plan and go for semrush pro to get the full list and disavow.

But I did read that this is not necessary anymore.

Yes in the recent update Google told that it will automatically reconsider the bad links, but as you have a feature in your hand you could use it. Not a problem. It won't take more than 5 minutes. Thanks.

As a SEO expert, how long do you think it takes for the changes to take effect after I upload the Disavowed links/domains on google?

Yes, you should disavow toxic backlinks from your website, You can do this using Google Search Console, in case you have a website with a high a number of toxic backlinks then you can use SEMrush pro.
