Qloudhost was the first one but they have metered bandwidth. There were a few others I looked at like Ultahost that wouldn't work for various reasons. I tried signing up with lyrahosting but I have no way to pay for it. I heard you should stay away from digitalocean so I never really looked at them. Same with alexhost, all the reports of slow speeds and downtimes I'd like to avoid. I don't think I've looked at Vultr yet so I'll have to check them out.
So, you need offshore hosting that ignores DMCA complaints. DigitalOcean and Vultr are not good for such purposes. You did not mention that in your original post, so I recommended DigitalOcean and Vultr.

Yeah that's what I figured. Ideally I don't get any ever and my moderation is enough but I'm sure that's a pipedream any time you open things up to allow users to post and add things.
That makes sense, I did spend a bit more time looking at how it works and I might have an idea. I did find a host already, just waiting for them to get the server set up so I can get started and see where it goes. I just looked at knownsrv and for the specs - price it looks pretty decent. I'll keep them in mind for the future.

Yes, they are called "managed" for a reason, you just message support and have them set up everything for you. It's part of the cost why they are more expensive than regular hosting
