Is .Net a good enough TLD for an exact match domain?

So I am looking to build rank and rent sites in my city. 3 different sites, one for HVAC, one for home renovations and one for tree removals.

All the services have [cityname] + [service] .com domains available except for the HVAC one. No exact matches are ranking in any local HVAC serps but both the .com and my countries TLD are taken. So my question is if I take something like .net if it will have the same affect or if I should just ditch it and stick with the other two service sites?

True, but since I am looking to rank and rent I could really care less about resale value.

If you are ranking and then renting, there may come a time you wish to sell the domains or the entire company

"could care less" means that you care a lot.

What you wanted to say is "could NOT care less"

Yes, .net is as good as most TLDs if you mean from a SEO standpoint. I know that some (business-oriented) people only use .com, but if this the only option you have it's still better than force-picking a worse domain just because it's a .com
