EDIT: I am posting from a proxy; hence the poor formatting and lack of paragraphs.

Over the past few days, I've been learning the ins and outs of keyword research using Market Samurai. My plan is to follow peter2002's method of creating a freebie for keywords with low/medium competition, getting opt-ins and building my list while redirecting to a related Click Bank offer.

I have a few questions, however.

Michelle McPhearson suggests that a good niche keyword is something that is above 100 SEOT and 5% PBR while remaining 10000 Title Competition and below 100000 SEO Competition. What exactly constitutes a good keyword for peter2002's method specifically?

Additionally, what is the most backlinked site I should be looking to knock off from Google's top 10?

Should I stick to those niches whose top 10 sites have below 100 backlinks or should I be more ambitious and aim higher?

Should I even be focusing on SEO?

Could I accomplish this method purely through other means such as article marketing and coupon sites which redirect to my freebie?

I apologize if my questions are newbish. It's just some of the keywords I'm looking at will cost me $10+ for their domains; I don't want to waste that kind of money on an avoidable problem.

Any and all feedback would be appreciated.

There you go. Good luck!

What a nice thing to do. I think the wall of text would have put a lot of people off answering my questions. Thank you so much davers!

First before you attempt to do any method, cpa, seo, ranking or whatever, you need to square the keyword thinghy or you are dead.

So before posting, search about keyword research in this forum and take notes. Then test and test and ask questions of what part yo do not understand. There is a big difference in posting a question on how to improve something rather than a post asking how to do everything, with details. WTF, you want not only to be spoonfed but also somebody to change your diapers.

Anyway, if you use market samurai and you want to rank for a kw, there are few things to keep in mind: (these are my parameters for quick ranking)
local total searches:70
pbr: 15
seot:20
seoc: 30,000/40,000/50,000
seotc:25,000/40,000

after you analyze the kw with these parameters, sort by more searches first and then grab each kw and hit seo competition and see if you have a chance.
if you find more than 3 sites with yyyyyyy all the way, forget about it, also see the number of blp, I see if there is at least 5 with less than 100, ill stay. Another important is to check if there is in your competitors if the kw is in the domain (more difficult to beat them).

start taking notes. Hope it helps

Thank you cbar. Exactly what I was looking for. I apologize if I come off as wanting to be spoonfed; I really don't. I am just eager to learn as much as possible.
