What is this guy doing?

Hello! I am researching on how to build backlinks, and am getting discouraged. Backlink building I know takes a lot of time, and don't know whether it is even benefitial if they are placed on a non ranking sites/pages/blogs/forums, whatever.

Anyways, long story short, I was doing market research (well, general how-to-get-high-ranking research, really), and did a search for 'regrow hair', and found a site called 'baldspotgone.c*o*m'

Trying to get to the point here, I did a Yahoo site explorer search, and found a ton of backlinks this guy has:

I notice that most, if not all of these sites that he has backinks on, are sites that have articles posted via rss feeds. Lots of these sites also have pretty high PR.

So my question is this.. How do I get an article (with my backlinks in them) set up in such a way that they are displayed on these high PR sites with RSS feeds in them?

I hope I made sense, as I even sort of lost myself!

That looks like an entire network of autoblogs he controls. You aren't going to get links from those. You could try to make your own though...

The reason many of those autoblogs have pagerank is that they're set up on dropped domains that he caught. The previous content had backlinks, so his spam site gets instant PR.

This is really interesting. However, unfortunately for us, he acquired these sites using either a very cunning buying strategy and / or a large amount of cash. So we can't follow his links.

There are other ways to get backlinks fast. Try following another spammer. You'll find gold soon enough.

Set up a bot to look for soon-to-expire domains, check the PR/backlinks on each one, add a task to buy domains with your desired parameters (PR > 2, more than 25 backlinks, whatever). You'll miss a lot of them to other more excited speculators, but you're sure to pick up some. If you find ones that are really desirable (PR8, thousands of backlinks, whatever) backorder them with one of the domain drop services.

I was considering coding something like this myself, I'm sure it's the same basic strategy that all the "expired domain traffic" providers use.

I am considering buying an expired domain, and was going to ask this question before CSA answered it for me.. thanks!

What is the best way to find expired domains? I think I could figure out the pagerank myself (with googles own pr toolbar) and backlinks (yahoo site explorer). How much should I expect to pay for one of these?

Also, thanks Micallef, I read some of your previous threads and saw you had some of the same questions I do, and am reading through them. Awesome!

It could well be a private autoblog network!

There are a few of them about which you either pay a fixed one time fee to use or post a link on or you pay monthly and submit your own articles to them.

There are services that list expired or expiring domains on the web. Search for them, I don't have a particular one to recommend.

Keep in mind that a majority of expiring domains are caught by speculators who submit a request to buy at the exact moment the domain expires. To beat them, you usually have to go with one of the services that does this for you, and pay a minimum of $50 per domain for it.

Backlink services on here generally do exactly what it says on the tin. You have to figure out for yourself if that's what your particular site needs. Generally it's a lot more complicated than just buying a BL service and then being in the number 1 google spot.

Go to http://www.a*g*e*-domain-finder*com (not an affiliate, it's a free site) and do a search. keep the minimum and maximum at 10, then click search. You can find out the domain ages if you have some time because you would have to click on each. Great for building an aged blog farm. 4 year old domains are very common. I acquired an 11 year old domain for a total of $18. You have to search around but they are in there.

The domain drop idea would be something to look into it... Since from what I recall reading.. the battle is between 3 major back order companies and its roulette to some extent on whos gonna grab the domain first.
